22 Dasher

Anyone have any experience with a 22 Dasher? What did you do for Dies. Looks as if this could be a hot cartridge for 22 shooters wanting something that could be fast but with a better barrel life than a 22/250AI.

although i do not have experience with the .22 Dasher, i do with the 6BR. dies will be pretty straight forward. do a forster bushing bump die for 6 Dasher but use propper bushings for your selected neck diameter on the .22 dasher along with a forster bullet seater or a wilson seater die used with an arbor press.

I have a 6 Dasher also so i just use the 6 Dasher Redding type s with the appropriate bushing for sizing. for seating i like to use Wilson dies so i had my smith run the reamer into a Wilson blank when i had my 22 Dasher chambered.
its funny that you mentioned 22 250ai as i had one before my Dasher and while it would go faster it shot the best at 3150 and 75 amax. my dasher found its home at the exact same speed and bullet with 10 grains less powder. and yes the dasher will shoot faster to just not quit as accurate.

Redding makes 22 Dasher dies and Sinclair may even have them in stock. You will have to call, not in catalog. I love my Dasher and case forming could not be any easier. Mine replaced a 22-250 for the reasons you stated. Don't let the post about lesser accuracy scare you, very accurate! I shoot 75's in the 3400 range and FF with 55 gr. wal mart specials. Awesome cartridge. DW

If it weren't for the fireforming, I would consider this round, but I am not wanting to do that again! But I do like reading the success stories!

As far as accuracy is concerned, the 22 Dasher has held the IBS small group record at
600 yards at least two times. James Phillips and Rodney Wagner both broke the record
with groups hovering around the one inch barrier at 600 yds. I believe both shot the
80 gr SMK. The 6 Dasher shoots under one inch pretty often in IBS matches.
I believe Memphis had a match this summer where two Dashers shot sub one inch.

I HAVE A 22DASHER MINE IS A .254NECK I USE 6DASHER DIE W .246 BUSHING THAT THING LOVES 75GR VLD BERGER N-135 POWDER AND 450 PRIMERS.
