22-6.5x47Lapua, which dies to buy?

Just had my Savage 12 rebarreled in 22x47 Lapua. I understand I need 6x47 full sizer to neck it down. How I neck it down further to .22? Can I use 22-250 Wilson bushing die? Do I need a dedicated seater, or I can use a seater for 22-250? Thank you.

I have a 22X47 L barrel for my Savage Target action. Dies are somewhat problematic. The best solution is to simply buy a set of 22X47 L custom dies. They tend to be a bit expensive though and you may have to wait awhile to get them made. In general .22/250 dies will not work. The .22/250 case has a lot more body taper than the 22X47 L, so the diameter at the shoulder is too small. To get started I used a Forester 6X47 L full length die to do the first neck reduction. I had a Redding 22 BR body die, so I adjusted it to not set the shoulder back and used it for the next neck reduction. A 22 BR full length die finished the job. I used the Forester Ultra 6X47 L seating die. It seemed to work alright although I haven't checked bullet runout. A 6X47 L bushing die can be used with the proper sized bushing to neck size for reloading. Case capacity is a bit greater than the standard .22/250, so reloading manual data for that cartridge can be used for STARTING LOADS. Good shooting, Vic
