What primers are you going to try? My 22-250 AI only likes the CCI-BR primers...

I haven't been on the forum much lately, 20 hour work days doesn't leave much time for internet but cci-br2 primers are EXACTLY!!!! the same primer as the cci-200's EXCEPT for the little B on the face of the primer, JFYI :)
Wayne.

Good to see you around here stranger! That's sure a clever way for CCI to make a few extra bucks.

well i got my buddies 22-250 ai put together last night, then he loaded rounds and fire formed 50 pcs today with 53 grain v max's on top of xbr and was stacking them at 100 yards, now he just needs to get his seater die and get some more rounds loaded up and see how things go

ok finally i am getting my 22-250ai barrel it is a total of 30" 1:8 twist
i have some 75 grain bergers, and some 80 grain a max's
i am planning to use cci br2 primers
i have a handful of different powders and can easily get more.

what do you guys suggest?

I once had a 22-250 AI I found WW760 was great for 55 gr bullets and a stiff load of H4831 for 80 gr bullets out of a 26" Rock bbl.

thanks guys, you have provided me with some great data, especially skyav8r with the berger data, that will help me load some fire forming loads since it is 22-250 rem data. i will have to pick up some powder from work and see what i can find out on this cartridge

looking at the data from berger i see that the 760 does pretty good at launching the 75 grain berger out of the 22-250 rem and i have some from my 243ai i have been shooting, i will have to try some of that then the 4831 imr maybe along with some of the others you all mentioned

414 and 760 are one and the same. I tried it and got so so results.

I ran out of room with H4831-SC before getting acceptable velocities, without severely crunching powder.

I'd still start with H-4350 before anything else. It fills the case w/o crunching and gives me 3425 with the 75 VLD's and scary accuracy.......

getting my barrel this afternoon, then i can put the rifle together tonight after work. gonna have to get my stuff ready and clear off my reloading desk.

no, i wanted to wait tell i knew what my depth was gonna be. got that new job and been doing a bunch of tests after work to get discounts on lots of gear. you ever get yours all tuned in?

That's a huge perk of working in a sporting goods store, huh, you're gunna need another job to because this job is gunna cost you more than you earn! LOL. I figured maybe you'd get bored and load them long, and re-seat once you had the throat figured out. I settled on 38.5 grains of H-4350, groups seemed to open up when I tried to add more powder; that's with a 75 HPBT, Win Brass and a CCI primer. Good enough, hope yours isn't as picky as mine!
