I think it was the late 30s that Ackley gave rise to the 219 Zipper. At that time I don't think "Ackley improved" was a name associated with cartridge cases. Parker Ackley started his gunsmithing career in 1936 or 1937. I also think his ackley improved named cartridges began years after he improved a few other cartridges earlier in his gunsmithing career. Technically the .219 zipper being developed by Ackley and having a 40° shoulder definitely makes it an Ackley offspring. I remember thinking about the 219 Zipper when I was kicking around a 204 Ruger option. I weighed out both rounds and did some research years back on both. Actually decided on a 20-250 AI so neither were chosen. My facts could be a bit inaccurate but it's what seems to come back to me from when I did the research on the Zipper.

That is the way a lot of reamers are made. You seat a bullet into the case and send it to the reamer mfg and they make a reamer that will cut a chamber for that cartridge.
Normally the case you send is unfired so consideration will have to be given to yours being fired.
The reason I used the .219 Zipper Improved as an example is because that Ackley designed cartridge does not have a 40 degree shoulder. My original point is an improved cartridge which was designed by PO Ackley does not necessarily have a 40 degree shoulder.

I do not know what shoulder the 219 Zipper has obviously. It looks like a 40° shoulder. In fact, I have a 219 improved case and it's almost identical to my Ackley's. In fact, I think it's a 40° shoulder for sure so maybe it's a little different than the original 219 Z improved.

Ackley was a experimenter. Perhaps his testing began with 28* and migrated to 40*. I don't believe that every cartridge he tried at 40* gain much in performance. We all know that the 40* shoulder decreases case stretching. Thus we don't have to trim as often.

Tommie and okie don't you guys go trying to confuse some of these people here with facts. Because everyone knows if you make your case an Ackley you automatically don't have to worry about pressure limits and you get phenomenal velocities.

I wish that, someone would design / PERFECT and,.. SAMMI "Spec",.. a bit Shorter "Body" ( a tiny bit, LESS Powder ) .22-250 Rem with, an almost straight, Body wall taper ( .455 - .460 ) and a 33* to 35* shoulder angle, to KEEP the Turb Point, back IN the case WITH, LESS, Trimming ! And, have, a LONGER Neck ( better Bullet Placement to, chase the Lands ), LIKE,.. the 6 XC,.. HAS !
Guys,.. THIS is 2021,. IT'S,. Time for, the PERFECT, .22 Caliber, Varmint round !
And NO,.. the 6 Creed AIN'T quite IT, either !

Except for the SAAMI part, that wouldn't be a difficult project. Take a 6.5 x 47 case and push the neck/shoulder junction back to form a 35° shoulder when necking it down. That will result in something very close to what you described.
Sounds like you want a 6 or 22 GT.
Got me, a 6 XC in, the "works" and still have, an accurate .22-250 Rem 700,.. But I can see, the "Flaws" of the .22-250 Rem Case Design and I DO get tired of, Trimming ! Just Dreaming for Now, about,.. a PERFECT, .22-250 Cartridge.
I think, I'm gonna be, real Happy with, the 6 XC as, I really LIKE, the Design of,.. it !
Using, light Bullets ( 60- 70 grain ), IT will probably replace, my .22-250,.. someday !
I'll have to, "look at",.. the .22 GT !

Evan,.. YUP, .22 GT,.. that's "exactly" what, I had in Mind !
Although with high quality brass available for the Dasher now, I'd be really tempted to go 22 Dasher instead.
If it's any "good" ( and IT does look awesome, to me ) and gets reasonably Popular, somebody will make GOOD Brass for, IT ! I'm, a "plug and Play" type now and, I don't rush into "things",.. anymore ! ( Age, maybe ? )
I've waited and watched, the "Bugs" get worked OUT of, the 6 XC's, Chamber Dim's, Neck size and Brass "issues" and finally,.. "pulled the Trigger" on, building one, recently !
The 6 XC is like,.. 15 years old, now,.. LOL !
Still have, some "life", in my old, .22-250 so, NO hurry, for me !
I've waited and watched, the "Bugs" get worked OUT of, the 6 XC's, Chamber Dim's, Neck size and Brass "issues" and finally,.. "pulled the Trigger" on, building one, recently !
The 6 XC is like,.. 15 years old, now,.. LOL !
Still have, some "life", in my old, .22-250 so, NO hurry, for me !
