.22-250 and 52 Gr A-MAX Effective on coyote

Going coyote hunting this weekend with a buddy. Im taking my .22-250 and the only ammo i have loaded is some varget and 52 GR A-Maxes. Will the A MAX Bullet take a coyote down if i put it in the right spot? Thanks Any other tips on coyote hunting?

like a rock, stay under 400-450 assuming your velocity is in the 3600-3700 range

36.5 gr RL15 drives the 52 AMax at 3700 fps out of my Stevens 200, COAL 2.470. Dynamite out to 300 yds. Never shot it beyond that.

My pet load is: 52gr Vmax - 38.0gr H380 - F210m - oal @ 2.400 = 3800 fps @ 57972, this load gives you 99.7% case fill along with 97% propellant burnt. Data taken from Quick Load, actually chronoed 3806 fps out of my 26" barrel. Most 14tw 22-250's I've ever loaded for would shoot bug holes with any decent 52gr bullet when push by 38.0grs of H380. Turns p-dogs to red mist out to 500yds. Never had the opportunity to pop a yote with this load but I have used it to take several feral hogs.

advice on coyote hunting: I have heard, never tried it the following. spine shoot them or in the butt so they cannot leave, and they should start yelping like a wild child, and if there is another coyote in the area they will come and fast! i have done this on crows and it works like a charm.

You can do a coyote distress with a mouth call or electronic. Go for the kill on the first shot and don't give your recommendation to an anti hunter.
