.22 200 yard match scope

Thinking of getting a Bushnell Elite 3200 10X mil dot to put on an old target .22 to use for matches out to 200 yards. Know I need quite a bit of elevation adjustment and am pretty sure the 3200 10X will meet that but don't know much else about it. I'm not interested in dropping major bucks on this project as this is more of a gee whiz project than anything really serious at this point. Any ideas on the 3200 or something else equal or better for around that price to maybe 100 bucks more? For sure do want a mil dot though.

If you want to see your bullet holes at 200 yds you will probably be pressed with a 10x. You need 18-24x I would guess depending on your eyes. For the money it is hard to bet a fixed power. Couple of the guys I shoot matches with (centerfire BenchRest) have picked up the 36x TruGlo scopes. Tracking make not be perfect, but they hold the POI well and the glass is ok for a cheap scope. For less than a $100 it will be hard to bet I think. Even a used Weaver T24 or T36 will run closer to $300 or even more. They are currently on sale at Natchez for $65. http://www.natchezss.com/category.cfm?category=405&brand=XR&catLevel=1

Edit - I guess you probably mean a $100 more than a Bushnell 3200 and not a $100 for a scope. Still I think that 10x is too low of power for 200 yds for target. Look at a Weaver T24. They are about $350-375 new. Check with Bruno's. Usually a good price.

Luck, Tim

Yeah, I meant maybe 100 bucks more than the 3200. This is going to be silhouette matches so seeing the holes isn't as critical. Interesting on the TruGlo scope, I had not even considered one of those. I'm tempted to go with a Nikon Buckmaster but the 3200 is a fair amount less than those are. This isn't all about money but I just don't want to get all wound up over this match and drop major bucks into it. At least not now but of course I'm sure that will change as the competition increases!

Thanks for the info though.
