21st Century Shooting New Expander Mandrels .0005" Increments!

Coming very soon to our website! Our expander mandrels in .0005" increments over and under bullet diameter. These will initially be available in Stainless Steel and in each popular caliber (.22-.338). We will be making them for large caliber in the future as well (375, 408, 416, 50). TiN coating will also be looked into eventually also. I will let you know when they are available for ordering!

will they come in sets around the .284 for example? so I already have your standard 6-7 neck up mandrel and a standard 28 expander mandrel. but would like to have slightly larger option to change some seating pressure options.

Thanks!

Absolutely! They will available be in .281" through .285" in .0005" increments in the 7mm. All calibers 22-30 will be .003" below bullet diameter to .001" above in .0005" increments while the .338 caliber will be .004" below to .001" above bullet diameter in .0005" increments.

Fantastic addition to your product line . I contacted Sinclair about availability of varying diameters of their mandrels to adjust neck tension , and was not pleased with their response . Already have their expander Gen ll die , but you've got me for mandrels . Thanks for bringing a much needed product to the market . :D:D:D

One of the reasons we are not going with the TiN coating initially is that our coating is done at an outside source and we cannot guarantee how thick it goes on. We will be looking into this as an option only if we can get consistency.

Inevitably the TiN coating will vary in thickness and precise control of this is problematic. For fourth decimal place work a possible option would be to have the TiN supplier deliberately coat them heavy and then you could hone to final dimension. Since honing typically leaves a surface roughness of Ra 16 or better, the mandrels would have a polished appearance:).

The 64 thousand dollar question is: how much for a set?

We have run a few calibers on the lathe and SHOULD have them up on site in a few days! Sorry for the delay, I hope to have good news for you all shortly!

Pete thanks for the size printed on them so us old guys can just pick them up and not have to measure! Had to print sizes on all the ones I have just so I haven't got to keep checking them.
