.20PPC and H4895

Has anyone tried this combo with 39-40gr. bullets????

I`m thinking the .20PPC is really close to the .20-223AI in case capacity.

Since i`ve gotten positive feedback from the .20-223AI shooters, i just wondered if anyone has tried it in their .20PPC....

Phil.

We were just discussing this over on the Saubier forum. I have used imr4895 in my 20 ppc and it works good. My thinking in the other discussion was this: everybody suggests using benchmark and 133 and h322 with this cartridge. Those are the powders you would use with the 6ppc. Burn rates should get slower as expansion ratio gets lower right?

Why don't we start looking at using the powders that we would use in the 17rem and the 220 swift? To my way of thinking all three of these cartridges are like magnums of their caliber. When the holidays are over I'm planning to experiment with rl15, h380, h760, 4320, and similar.

Anybody agree with this thinking?

To Phil the original poster. Yes I believe the 4895's will work. I tried XBR and wasn't happy. I'm at n Xmas holiday and when it get home I will flip you my loads.

Eddie: I have used IMR 4198 with 32gr Bullets and shot good troops. I did not chrono but intuition says move along to slower powders. I like be this cartridge and would like to discover its treasures and pass them along. I feel that with rl15 or 4320 that this cartridge can be all that it can be. I'll keep you abreast of what happens
