204 Savage

New Savage Model 12 low profile 204. On break in the gun shot the 32gr Horn ammo sub 1/2" @ 100yds. The 40gr Horn ammo about a 5/8" group. Try ed some 39gr BLTZK with a 1 1/4" group. I think I can make the 39s shoot with some different seating depths. Seems to like a leap to the lands however.
Has anyone ever try ed this Cal at 600yds. I shot a few groups at 600 with a head on wind maybe 10mp and the 40gr Factory Horn ammo did ok. Lets just say it scored with no zero's.
With the 1-12 twist I am limited, but anyone have some good load data for me?

I am having really good accuracy with the 39 gr. BK using IMR-4895. My load is 27.8 grs of IMR-4895, Rem. 7 1/2 primer, Nosler brass, and waxed Sierra 39 gr. MK seated just off the lands. This is a warm load and is for waxed bullets so work up to it . For naked bullets back off .2 grs.

eggman-- I'm sorry to horn in on this thread, but I am wondering where you are getting Lapua brass for a .204 Ruger? Is Lapua brass available for the .204 Ruger or are you forming out of some other caliber????

Sorry meant to say Nosler brass which from what W-W brass I have seems to have same capacity as the W-W and may even be made by W-W
