100% 400 yard cartridge with 40’sin general with 35 and 40 grain bullets do you feel this is a 400 yard groundhog cartige or is this pushing the envelpe on killing power.
55 VMax has a lower BC and leaves at a slower velocity. No big surprise!I took the 223 Hornady factory 55 VMax data with their MV of 3240 and ran the same model for comparison. Not sure what makes them say 429, but much of the time those ballistic charts they show are off.

With so many heavier 224s available now, it’s getting hard for many to justify a 20 caliber anymore. That’s my assessmentMy old 204 with 32vmax launches PDs inside 400.
Due to lack of industry support for the 20s and 17s, I think im pretty much over it. infact just listed all my 20 cal stuff for sale.
I respectfully disagree. I love the low recoil you can stay on target and it can be very flat shooting. With so many heavier 224s available now, it’s getting hard for many to justify a 20 caliber anymore. That’s my assessment

I am hoping we see some lighter weight ELDVT come out to close the gap. I still like fast and flat for the varmint hunting I do.With so many heavier 224s available now, it’s getting hard for many to justify a 20 caliber anymore. That’s my assessment
