204 ruger rebarrelling opinion

Just throwing it out there. Pac nor also has a 20 practical zero FB. I enjoyed my 204, but brass options are slim especially when times are tough. 20 practical is about the same with basically unlimited brass from free LC pickup to lapua...

I wasn’t aware pac nor would do a bedding job on the stock. I thought I had to remove action and send it in.
I have lots of 40g vmax that I want a twist that would shoot them good. I thought about the 11 twist but wondered if it was fast enough or just go with a 10 twist.
The 12 twist it currently has will not group the 40s no matter what combination of components I put together.
I bought this rifles used so have no idea how many rounds been shot through it but I have about 200-250 through it.
I finally got my hands on some 39g sbk which I have had good success with a partial box someone gave me to try

Expect you are correct regarding the bedding. To my knowledge, Pacnor does not wish to see your stock at all.

Now this is what my gunsmith told me. The top spec is what is in a factory rifle. The bottom one is what they originally designed. Shorter throat getting those bullets closer to the lands. He has an original print reamer and has offered to set mine back to it but the thing shoots just fine the way it is. It just depends on id the bullet handles the jump
The reamer print Chuckshooter posted that is 1.975 is saami factory print.

I hear you but I am good on brass. I have a couple hundred pieces that should last me a while until they make more.
Before pandemic I bought some blems that were primed and they looked perfect

Well been a long time coming but going to be shipping out this week. Shipping a rifle has become a pita now.
Luckily pac nor said they can provide shipping label (I’m paying for shipping)
Removed action and trigger and put it in a pool noodle to protect it. The bolt will also be in pool noodle and bubble wrap
Going to keep factory contour and 24” length with recessed floorboard crown and threaded 1/2x28 for suppressor
The finish I’m leaning towards the bead blasted
This will be my first time having something like this done so I am nervous excited anxious.
If life events didn’t come up when I started this thread I could have had it back already.
