204 ruger for coyotes

I dont care at all for a 204 ruger while hunting coyotes. Way to many run off for me. Call it bad shot placement or whatever, but a run off is still a run off. I like the 243 for coyotes. Come to think of it, i haven't ever had a run off or a splashed it with a 243. Just my 2 cents! Lee

I'm with Skeetlee. The last two trips to Texas that I have taken my .204, but, I have put it in the truck and gone back to a 22-250 or a .243 on the second night. Yes it will kill, but I also have had a lot of walkers with the .204. The .204 to me, simply does not have the terminal energy to kill DRT. I love the .204, but if I were only going to have one gun for predators it would be a 9 twist 22-250 or a Swift.

:-\ What bullet are you guys using? If it's the VMax there's your problem. When you move to the non BT bullets you see drastic improvments. The 35gr Bergers are stellar on the coyotes, Adam

Not wanting to start a "How small of a bullet can kill a coyote" debate. I've killed them with the little .17 HMR but..... the 6mm's are way more "stellar" than any .22 or .20 cal. My $.02, if the .204's all you got, go for it.
Either way, good huntin to ya.
