2025 Southwest Nationals

How about we needed to get the result finalized for the awards ceremony for the people that actually showed up for the match. Putting the results on the website for people not at the match is a lower priority than taking care of our shooters.

We are eating dinner for the first time in a week and getting to visit and socialize with the people we love that come to the match for the first time this week and get maybe more that 3 hours of sleep for the first time since last Monday.

The staff is exhausted.
He is not exaggerating. There is a huge amount of work behind the scenes that people have no idea about.

You did an amazing job, Matt. You and your staff are rock stars.

Whoever is updating the website needs to get a new job. Terrible!
REALLY!!!!

And where did you get all this entitlement.

If you'd ever attended a SWN match you'd know that the staff is made up of VOLUNTEERS. They work like Trojans to put on the match. Months of preparations prior to the match. The week of the match they work from sunrise to sunset to accommodate 400 shooters from all over the world.

A little gratitude goes a long way

Matt, Thank you for all that you do.

Joe

Same crap every year after the show is over.
Didn't do it fast enough or didn't get this or that.
Shot the SWN the first 10 years and you could cut and past the complaints every year.
If you saw what was done before during and after you would be shocked.
Mat, Michelle, Nancy and Mid still busted their ass to get the show to go off when it was 50 shooters and now when its 350+ you still can't so anything right.

I know the job doesn't pay much.
Vacation days get used up to make the show go.
Awards and hand shakes with a few hugs and fall into a pile on the couch.

What would you expect. Matt even owned that final internet results would be delayed for some sleep!

John

JKL is spot on.
Anyone complaining about this hasn’t been involved in the ass busting part of matches.

First it’s doing the initial paperwork.
Then getting the range ready for the match
In this case imagine 100 shooting points !!!
Along with prep work for the match.
Then the registration part.

Then it’s running the match and putting up with the complaints along the way.

After that it’s compiling the scores and triple checking before the awards or you get more bitching.

And like usual if you don’t have the results posted 10 minutes after the awards the complaints start.

Mom said if you don’t have anything good to say
keep your pie hole shut

It's like that at all of the matches (My friend and I Used to run Long Range Matches)
People show up just before the match and shoot, First they complain if they don't get to shoot in the morning, Or they whine and figure out a way to make sure they do. Then complain about working the pits. Then accuse people of cheating. They whine like little girls. Then after the awards. They leave immediately, They don't come before the match and help setup, And they don't stay afterwards and help clean up and put everything away. Just a trail of dust when it's over.

We did it for years, I don't want any part of it anymore. A lot goes into it, Have some respect and appreciation for those that put these matches on.

The F-Open long range grand agg is now available on the Desert Sharpshooter site.

A big congratulations to Tim Vaught, Robert Massingill and Doug Skogman for placing first, second and third! And to Bayou Boyz winning the team match!

If I reading it right it looks like 7 out of the top 10 shooters in the F-open Long Range competition are from Bayou Rifles. Monster showing, you make us Bayou Rifles shooters watching from afar very proud!

That is why the management spends the rest of the year in the Bahamas.
Now you know the truth about final scores being posted. Takes a bit to get to the boat and get the Skylink going.

John
