2024 IBS 1000 Yard National Championships

Torge

Gold $$ Contributor
Deep Creek will host the IBS 1000 Yard Nationals again this year on August 10 & 11, with the 8th and 9th available for sight in days.

Be sure to make arrangements for lodging as soon as possible.

Attached are the registration PDF file and a letter explaining our event as planned so far.

Membership in the IBS or Williamsport is required per IBS Long Range Rule Book lines 520-524.

EDIT, I corrected both the letter and registration form to eliminate confusion on how many targets we will shoot. There will be 3 targets for Light Gun and Heavy Gun.

Thanks,
David Torgerson

There is also lots of room to camp at the range if you prefer, but limited supply of power hook ups. You can check out some of these RV rental sites and have camper delivered to the range and not have to drive back and forth to town. Some sites that I looked up are, outdoorys.com, RV share, RVezy, all missoula.com and gorvrentals.com. If you plan on staying in Missoula, as Shawn stated, book Now. Rooms can be hard to find if you wait to long.

Is there any reason to be concerned that room to camp will run out? I was planning to bring a tent, not an RV or trailer.

Another question: I am pretty sure my IBS membership has expired. Can I still come shoot and have my targets scored, even though I won’t qualify for records?

I'm pretty sure I can find 45 bucks for all you've done helping us out with the program Evan! Lol. The only camping spots that we run short on are those with electricity hookups. I don't think I'll live long enough to see us run out of tent spots, and we would need more than 2 days if that ever happened.

I can spring the $45 - I’ll be in it for WAY more than that coming up from Colorado. Just wondering what the protocol was for those of us who can’t find our membership cards and never received a renewal notice.

I’m looking forward to the match! The time is blocked out at work and I’ll plan to be there Friday morning.

Evan,
I sent my IBS membership application and check in on February 3rd and they had it on the website in a week, and my card arrived in the mail in less than 10 days.
The picture is what they put on the IBS website for a temporary card.
Lonnie can also set you up with membership. They all expire in January now.

I imagine that will be easier for them. I think mine expired right around the freedom dust up and maybe got lost somewhere along the way. In years past I received a letter (and maybe an email?) letting me know. Never really followed up on it when nothing showed up.

I did an edit to my first post with the letter and form. I corrected both the letter and registration form to eliminate confusion on how many targets we will shoot. There will be 3 targets for Light Gun and Heavy Gun.

Is it viable for me to bring an extension cord to run power to my tent from one of the electrical hookups, or do I need to plan on battery power over the weekend? Mostly thinking about my scale and inflating my air mattress, so not a tremendous electrical load.

Yes Evan, guys do that occasionally. Run a battery backup on your scale, as we trip occasionally during the AC week of the year we get, lol.

100’ cord enough, or more? I wasn’t paying any attention to the camping spots last year, haha.

I haven’t run my scale on my 10ah battery long enough to drain it before, so I’m not sure how long it’ll last.

Registration is in the mail to Lonnie. I booked out an extra day on either side at work so I can arrive Thursday instead of Friday. Getting itchy to shoot 1000yd since we’re only shooting 600yd at CRC this year.

Good luck to everyone this weekend; I’m looking forward to seeing the results!
