Congratulations Kevin, Trystan and Bethany.
Thanks to everyone that helped put this on, and as usual you did an excellent job.
Thanks to our sponsors for your generous contributions!

I took some photos and videos and have posted them on our website (link below), along with some of these great shots by Tom Mousel and Jeff Locke.

Thanks

Never simple to assemble in words how I feel after these events as there ends up being so much to breakdown or process to come to a mental conclusion as to what shook out across the course for two days… my family and Deep Creek family truly come together monthly from March till August sense 2014 season building and machine of accountability through having fun sharing life’s pursuits while attempting to knock down barriers.. having keys members that continue to polish there rolls as leaders be it Running the line, guiding human in the pit , keeping us fed, managing a scoring shack and simply policing one another in the spirit of being safe while having fun takes a lot of coordination as a group… the benefit is what I experienced once again over the course of the last four days thank you to everyone volunteer staff and shooters… congratulations to all who earned the tops spots what a accomplishment… and really congratulations to everyone who was sprinkled all over that top board as it’s a tough Road to hoe. Lonnie Anderson thank you for simply being you and working for Deep Creek year round.. all our support staff thank you for those continued efforts as well.. Mark and Angie Candua thank you for keeping us fed for 3 days nothing more personal than that.. David Conover thanks for producing the shirts hats sweatshirts cups and general swag.. Steve Boyce “Boyce Lumber” and member thank you for your off seen assistance wherever needed and your continued donations greatly appreciate. Huge thank you to our vendors that continue to support our prize table every year… and Lastly and this is a touch self serving and the closest to my heart Trystan Williams “T” “T-dog” “two time position National champion” you were the jockey for that pony and with some proper feed pulled damned near every lick life out of those three targets …again congratulations to all in there success but as I say often .. the best is yet out in front of us of that I’m certain…

The Tehama Shooters thank the Deep Creek crew for all their hard work and effort. It takes an unbelievable amount of time and coordination to prepare and run a match of that size. We appreciate it very much. What a great shoot and welcoming crowd. It was a pleasure to shoot with all of you again this year. Jason Peterson, Steve Shongood and Brent Whaley represented TSA well. Great shooting fellas. Also, way to go Trystan and Bethany! Hope to see many of you in Eatonville next month and all of you next year at Deep Creek!

Like Shawn stated, its difficult to put into words al the great memories made this past weekend.
Thank you to everyone who made the weekend such a huge success from the management to all the volunteers who put in long hours to pull this off to the competitors for keeping the relays running smooth and safely.
During my 12 hour drive to the mountain, it dawned on me that l have been making this annual trek since 2001 which my math skills tell me this would be my 25 year anniversary to Deep Creek.
Sadly though, none of the original Northwest 1000 Yard Benchrest competitors would be there as all have either moved on or passed on leaving the current membership to carry on the tradition of assembling a group of the greatest long range benchrest shooters this country has ever seen under one roof to battle it out for two days in Gods country. Everyone coming with high hopes and dreams of coming out on top after the smoke clears.
Congratulations to all the shooters who shot consistently small and centered up to earn your spot on the podium at the 2025 IBS 1000 yard National Championship. Job Well Done!!!

Just a tidbit of history, it was 25 years ago this past weekend that the 6 Dasher cartridge made its maiden voyage onto the world of long range benchrest shooting.
Very intimidating to say the least as every other cartridge on the firing line was consuming at least twice as much powder as l was. Then there was Jay MacMunn's 338-404 Jefferys improved burning around 175 grains of powder.
I definitely felt like l had innocently walked into the Lions Den and was going to be chewed up and spit out and sent home with my tail between my legs.

Happy 25th anniversary 6 DASHER

And the rest is history.

Deep Creek will always be a little bit magical to me

Happy 25th anniversary 6 DASHER
Richard, it was wonderful to see you here yet again! Whether it was someone brave enough to bring a Dasher in 2001. Or queer enough (@GlennK) to attempt a 25 x 47 in 2024, it sure is neat to just be here for all the innovations. Oh ya, and Alex talking my dumb ass into a BRA in 2017 is still leaving it's mark. When you combine the friendships along the way, it couldn't get any better. If only it wasn't winter for 10 months! Lol

The best part of these matches is the people you get to meet. I had read about Richard for years in the old Precision Shooter and the NBRSA match reports. I got to meet him last year when we worked next to each other in the pits for a few relays. That was one of my favorite parts of the trip. This year we had finished dinner and the Washington boys has bought a big box of ice cream bars from the store and we were eating them in the lobby of the hotel we were all were staying in. Richard got out of the elevator and Jeff asked him if he’d like one of the ice cream bars? He said sure he was just headed to Dairy Queen for a little treat. Well we all started BSing and Richard starts telling us about how when he was a boy he and his brother would shoot gofers for 2 to 4 cents a piece. He was 10 years old or so. He said every waking moment he wasn’t at school or doing chores he and his brother were hunting gofers. He said the first year they shot way more than they figured they would. The second year was the same. When they brought all the gofer tails to the county agent the second year they had killed 4,800 of them. Yep, 4,800. They got a check for a $197. A fortune for an 11 year old kid back then. He said he still has some of the old 22 ammo his dad bought them for their safari and also the old 22 rifle. He shot them here not to long ago and he said it was a miracle they killed a single gofer . That evening in the lobby of the Super 8 was the highlight of my trip. That’s why I like to go to shoots like this!
Sorry for the long post, see you at the next one.
Joe

One of my memories from last year was Brent riding back and forth with me to the pits.
Monday morning the wife got into the truck and wondered what the hell happened to her seat being all the way back and half reclined.. I started to chuckle and told her’ oh yeah I had a 6’9” passenger on her side.. lol
I would like to add in that this year was a bit of a struggle for us having to relocate which threw a wrench into my entire spring and half the summer, I finished moving just a couple weeks before the Nats, having to completely retune a barrel and scratch my head a couple times I took what the target told me and did the best I could. I still made one mental error sending only nine on my last HG only to discover that fact with time expiring I sent number ten (unfortunately) into the nine ring.
Other than that I had I great time with old and new friends.
I can hardly wait for March..

A quick report on Northwest MT 1000 yd. Match, we had a very good turnout. Shawn, Tom, David and Lonnie assembled a great support staff, did an outstanding jobs. The match went smoothly and some very outstanding shooters shot very well. I'd like to share my thoughts. We had some outstanding vendors that donated some outstanding prize. It's nice. To see these vendors support the club and the shooters, I would. It would be nice if we could reciprocate when we can and purchase goods from these vendors. It's nice to see the vendors. Spend a good portion of their advertisement in support of the shooters, not all marketing. One individual Alex Wheeler donated a long-range stock. And I was very fortunate and happy to win that donation.I'm looking forward to building a new gun around this stock.
