2024 Deep Creek LR Regional

Hopefully @jameydan or @F Class John can chime in with pics and official scores... but I will say I had a blast. Got to see a lot of old friends, and make a few new ones. First time back shooting @ LR period since the 2020 SWN, so it took a couple days to blow the rust off / work out the stupid, but I did okay on Sunday ;)

Congrats to Roger Mayhall (F/O) and Tom Hubbard (F/TR) as match winners.
Rumor is there are pending new national records for several people, so there's that too!

Great match, well run and I'll definitely try to get my entry in a little earlier next year!

Shooting is not generally a spectator sport but when Roger was within reach of the record in that final string at 1000, there were a lot of spectators. That was fun to watch. Congratulations Roger!

I didn't know that Tom was in contention for a record as well. Way to go Tom. Then there was Keith who also set a record and then there was Danial who set a youth record. Danial also took silver in F Open. Congratulations to all. That was one of the better weekends at Deep Creek that I've seen in a number of years.

The match was fun but the competition was tough. Out of 24 F-open shooters who completed the match,
12 shot a score > 99% and it was anybody's game at all times (except Roger who had pulled away from the pack early on).
Roger was shooting a 7 FCP and that gun was probably the tightest I've seen in recent times. It was a pretty great moment to see him break the national record. Congrats again Roger !!

Tom, of course, has been literally winning everything and he's probably running out of space to store all those medals. Congrats Tom !

Here's the records that were broken that I'm aware of (pending approval from NRA).
It was a crazy weekend with conditions begging for records to be broken, and shooters who brought the guns and skills to take advantage of it. It was awesome to be a part of it.

Roger Mayhall New Open Palma with 450-40x

Tom Hubbard New TR Palma 450-30x (and first TR shooter to ever clean a Palma in a registered match)

Danny Moseman New junior open Palma record (he actually broke it Saturday and then broke it again Sunday) 449-36x

To all Congratulations.
To Tom and Keith you put a Smile on my Face.

Jeez, you guys.

"Ladies, gentlemen, and NAAAVY shooters, your three-minute, NON-FIRING Tim, Preparation period begins now."

"Is the line ready? Too damn bad. The line is ready."

"Relay One, this is your last chance for glory!"

Thank you all for coming and giving me a chance to hone my socialization skills.

What was the one you chickened out on there towards the end? :p
