2021 Winter Regional at Ben Avery

Good news for those of you looking to qualify for the F-Class V2 Finale later this year. The match program has been modified to reflect the following change:

F-Class Point Series & V2 Finale Aggregate
Note: the Friday 1,000 Yard Match and the Sunday 1,000 Yard Match will be combined to create a
special aggregate match. The purpose of this aggregate is to allow competitors to qualify for the F-Class V2 Finale later this year. Please note that no cash/awards will be provided for this aggregate
match, but top performers will be eligible for V2 points.

Thank you Johnny Ingram for making this happen.

We have 60 competitors registered thus far. Based on these numbers, the current cash prize for Weekend Agg. winners in F-Open, F-TR, Any Rifle, and Palma Rifle is now $1240, $700, $500, and $500 respectively. The amount can only go up. :)

Looks like an awesome match. On the schedule for next year, for sure.

Anyone coming from east of Houston down I-10 that could haul another shooter's gear? I would love to attend but cannot take the time off of work to drive.

You are cordially invited to participate in the 2021 Winter Regional January 29 – 31. Friday January 29th will be a stand-alone 1,000 Yard pair-firing match. The regional event consists of a 600 yard competition on Saturday, followed by a 1,000 yard match on Sunday. Winners of the regional will receive a minimum cash prize of $500. I see in the program that on Friday morning, relay 1-2 check in at the line, relay 3-4 check in at pits. When or how, do we find out squading?

I've never shot alternating pair firing. Would someone elucidate the procedures, who scores, who times? Does each scorer need a countdown timer? TIA

Pair firing is a lot of fun and this match is a great way to try. You can find the US Fullbore rules here: http://rulebooks.nra.org/documents/pdf/compete/RuleBooks/Fullbore/fb-book.pdf Two shooters share a firing point, while one person shoots, the other scores. Then the roles are reversed. Each shooter gets 45 seconds. Time for the first shot starts when the targets appear. After that, time starts after a previous shot has been scored. Nobody keeps a timer. 45 seconds is a lot of time, do some dry firing with a timer and you'll see. But it's not enough time to wait for a wind condition. You pretty much have to look at the flags and mirage, make a wind call, and shoot. If you are shooting with someone who is slow and you think exceeding the 45 seconds, call a line official over. The official will time the shooter and dock the value of the shot if time is exceeded. This format will keep you on your wind reading toes

I didn’t see registration closure day, still open?
