Looking for input on the 2021 IBS ballot. I have shot very little 600 and 1K matches in the IBS so the agenda items are not real clear to me.

I have not seen the agenda items, where did you find them?

Dub, You beat Me to the punch. I am confused about LR1, the statement ‘probably eliminate the original “RELAY THEN SHOOTOFF” format’.

Does this mean the current 1,000 yard format would revert to the current 600 yard format?

LR2 and LR3 seem clear enough. Thanks…RR

Apparently if the electronic scoring system is adopted, shooters will have to come off their rifles to view the monitor. Kind of hard to do that if you are a runner, especially in the last 15 seconds of the site in period at 600.

bugman we have these scoring systems on some of our benches at Williamsport. I'm right handed and don't come off the rifle when I shoot, I put the tablet on the left side and before they pull the target to spot my shot I know already were I hit and make an adjustment before the target comes back up with the spotter in it.
So if i shoot at 15 second and see my shot is left or right, I can adjust and get another shot off before the range master says ceasefire.

That makes sense for 1000. If it just is a small tablet and can be positioned out of the way, then, I can agree with what you said. My remark was more referenced to the 600 painted swinger sighters that give immediate feedback from the visible "splat".

LR1 is just to count the target 2s for something other than match wins. The clubs that are shooting a 2 target format will now have 12 and 20 match aggs to shoot for as well the the current 6 and 10. The part about probably eliminating the original format is just assuming that no club will want to shoot it anymore. But its not eliminating it as a rule. It simply adds agg records for the second targets shot at clubs that use a 2 target format, currently only the first target counts for aggs.

Nothing wrong with them and nothing about them will change. If you want the addition of a 12 and 20 vote yes, if you dont, vote no.

Thanks for posting I haven’t received my ballot yet.
I’m totally undecided for an abundance of reasons.
You’re welcome Stan, I just joined IBS this year and have never shot an official match so it’s all Greek to me. I’ve only shot club matches, trying to learn all I can, mainly how to shoot so I don’t look like a complete idiot when I do shoot my first official match!!

If you’re new I would talk with some club members at the range you will be shooting at about the ballot or just vote what you’re heart tells you is right.
PS wish you the best on your shooting it’s definitely addictive for sure.

Questions what’s wrong with the original 6 and 10 target aggregate I realize that current aggregate is really small.
I just wish there was one and only one format for every 1000 yd clubs.
PS thanks for your input helps me tremendously on my decision.
Nothing is wrong with the 6/10 and nothing is wrong with the idea of ADDING the option of 12/20.
Whatever your home club decides it will still be easier than figuring out the drink machine at Zaxby's! ;)

Out of town until the weekend. No mail so this is a surprise. To me the 1000 format is a confusion and I would welcome some form of the current 600 format.

Not sure about electronic changes and why another minute is needed for sighters between targets. Will be interested to read and try to understand possible changes.

Another minute is not needed for sighters, the vote is to cut back time for your second target. Those at 600 nationals this past year voted to use this and it help shave off a lot of time with the 100+ shooters.
600 has had a shorter sight in for the second target for years, this would in fact make it closer to your 600 format request.

At 1k there is a 6 minute sighter period ahead of every target it’s not like 600 where your first set is 6 minutes and everything after is 2 minutes.

As stated above the 6 & 10 match agging system will not be affected by the 12 & 20 agging system. the 12 & 20 will be additional. these targets are really already being shot at clubs but simply will be recognized. the additional goal of 12 & 20 at Deep Creek this season really stimulated our shooters to be at there best & bring there best for all targets vs just the first target per class.

Got home from my trip, read the mail and the rule change proposals seem simple and clear. Much of what I read here is a giant confusion.

That electronic stuff, for one example, is only for sighters. Anyway, I think all the proposals have merit to try.
