For the folks that have traveled to this match....post up your picks for the best hotel/motels close to the range.

We are staying at Comfort Inn Mansfield. Really short drive to the range.

Hate to bring an old topic to the forefront, but we only have two shooters on the waiting list.. both are national champions. Hmm. One other point regarding the match, on Saturday and Sunday, individual matches, shooters will have unlimited sighters for each 1000 yd match. We originally had unlimited sighters the first match of the day and 2 sighters the remaining matches each day.

Well then...how about putting me on that waiting list. Surely, the other two need some company. Uh...what are the dates again?

Hahaha, March 20-22. Okay, now I can say I have 3 national champions on the waiting list! Trouble is, nobody is cancelling!

Rain is a great thing at LRA IMO.....it is about the only reliable way to see the wind at that SOB.....Seriously!!! I've shot my only LR 20 shot clean there during the rain. However, the pit entrance is a mud bog in those conditions.

In other words, bring your rain gear?

A few things about shooting in the rain. 1) It Sucks! Setting up and laying down a a wet shooting mat is not enjoyable. 2) Even if you keep your ammo covered, your hands are still wet. Then your ammo gets wet while you load a round. I know lots of people that have had pressure issues just from wet hands. I understand that a covered firing line can help with these. 3) Pasters don’t stick to a wet target. This is where you will run into problems.
