ok, here's some info that was just sent out about the match...
For those coming in from out of town and arriving Friday, we'll have the range open most of the day to accommodate people's travel schedule. If you are not able to arrive first thing in the morning, please give us a heads-up as to when you'll be arriving. We'll get you onto the firing line ASAP.
- When you arrive, go immediately to the 1000 yard long range parking lot. This is the first parking lot you’ll encounter after you exit from Pyramid Highway. We’ll have some signage up to direct you.
- Get signed in and collect your competitor packet. For those pre-registered, we’ll have your scorecards already filled out.
- Safety briefing will begin at 8:00. Please don’t be late for this.
- Due to parking limitations in the pits and to make the match move efficiently, we will be requesting that target pullers carpool to the pits. We’ll also have some transportation available to shuttle people back and forth. For those driving remember – 25 MPH on the main road and 15 in the parking lots – these are posted speed limits. Please obey them!
- There are port-a-potty facilities in the pits and in the parking lot at the 1000 yard line. A full bathroom is available near the public firing range.
- Ice chests with water will be available in both the pits and the firing line – for those unfamiliar with the high desert climate, be warned, you can become easily dehydrated. Drink up!
- Speaking of high desert climate… the weather here can be a little unpredictable. Be prepared for anything and everything, sometimes all at once. The 1000 yard firing line is covered, but sun protection is always a good idea.
- Eye protection is required in the pits while pulling targets. A hat with a brim is highly recommended.
- Food will not be provided at the match.
- Click on this link for a google map route to get to the range from Sparks, NV. If you are navigating with another app, use the search term “Washoe County Regional Shooting Facility“. If you are navigating the old fashion way, the directions to the range are simple: From I-80, exit NV-445N/Pyramid Way and drive North for 32 miles. You’ll see the entrance on the left. There is literally NOTHING else around.
