2017 Midwest Palma

Rain's dampened everyone's spirits the past couple days, but other than cancelling today's 1,200 yard match we got thru two days of Palma.

Here are postings, not necessarily in order of their being shot:

Tuesday's sling shooters

More sling with F-Class at the bottom

Monday's Team Results

More Team Results

We get a decent chance of getting a whole match shot without a rain delay tomorrow we'll ALL be in a better mood I assure you!!

I can't get the "more sling with f class at the bottom" to open either. Thank you for posting results. Looks like Eric and Steve brought the battle from lacrosse to Lodi to finish things. Looks like a good match going on. Wish I was there. Saturday and Sunday I will be there.

Sorry for the access issues, I'll try another vector once I have scores for today.

Tomorrow's not looking good at all weather-wise, but maybe - maybe - we'll get it all in.

Looks like Keith Hoverstad was "the man" winning with a Palma rifle over all the match rifles yesterday. Now if he can just avoid the train wreck :)

Hey Blair,
Just an FYI, veryone is shooting Palma rifles until friday, when "Any" rifles are allowed. If a shooter plans to shoot "any" on Friday, they get put into ththe "MR" category all week. I got put there by mistake, as I am only shooting Palma. Should be fixed today!

Your crew is doing great - Keith was the man yesterday, and young Adam Fitzpatrick shot his first-ever 450 today!

Thanks Eric! Is the wind there as easy as it looks or is everyone just hammering away?

Haha, I thought it was easy until today! Got rained on several times and the wind was not my friend. SPClark took us all to school today, and made it look like it still was easy!

Grand Aggregate

Waylon Burbach was 1st, Steve Knutson was 2nd and Erik Rhode was 3rd.

It was a tight finish, and Waylon earned his trophy by keeping his cool on Friday. After relatively benign conditions (aside from a few monsoon relays) over the 3 Palma days, Winnequah finally showed her teeth a little for the 3x1000's to shake up the standings a bit. Strong, gusty winds with regular full reversals kept a lot of people scratching their heads when 8's, 7's, and even 6's turned up. Despite "Any rifles" and scopes being allowed on Friday, Palma-only shooters took the top 6 spots in the overall agg, and 8 of the top 10. Also, most (maybe all?) of us were shooting 155's. Another great week of shooting put on by the Leibetrau family and everyone else involved in making the MIdwest Palma Championship happen.

Oh yeah, Bob "Seabiscuit" Sebold was the top F-class gun, as per usual here.

Now, it's on to the Wisconsin state LR championships - Palma course today, and 2x1000's tomorrow to finish up my 9-day shooting odyssey. I'm not even close to getting sick of it! Is there any way I can shoot Palma as a full time job?
