2017 Deep Creek Rifle Range, Missoula, MT High Power Matches, XTC, Prone, F-Class and Tactical

We have attached the programs for the Memorial Day Ironman tournament and the September Northern Rockies Long Range Prone and F-Class matches. We will be posting the June Service Rifle tournament info in the near future.***


Come on up (or down) to the Deep Creek matches this year, and enjoy yourself with the scenery, an awesome range and great competition. You stand a good chance of shooting some of your best scores there and you might see additional National Records fall (22+ NRA National Records in the last 7 years).

The Ironman tournament in the Spring is capped at 45 shooters, the F-Class and Sling portions of the Northern Rockies are limited to 60 shooters and 45 shooters, respectively. The Ironman and the Northern Rockies Tournaments sell out each year, so make plans and get your registrations in soon. The registration forms are the last page of the attached programs. The registrations with payment are the only way to secure a spot on the firing line (Please do not email, text or PM me with intentions of coming; you need to send in the paperwork and payment).

New this year is a Field Precision Rifle Division. This division is not an official NRA division, but it will allow competitors to shoot against similar rifles. These rifles will be similar to hunting rifles, military M24, M110, M2010 rifles and PRS style rifles, all firing from an Atlas/Harris/folding type bipod. A rear bag maybe used but not a rest. This Division will be used during F-Class matches and also during the XTC matches! This was a trial run division last year and it was very popular with nearly 20% of the Northern Rockies F-Class match being composed of this division. For traditional PRS type competitors, this is a great opportunity to get instant feedback on your load, rifle and shooter accuracy as well as a chance to refine your wind reading skills.

May 27th (Afternoon): 2 x 600 yds Prone and F-Class (Runs concurrent with XTC match)
May 28th: Prone and F-Class Mid Range matches (300-500-600yds) plus team match
May 29th, Memorial Day: 2 x 1000yds plus team match

Montana State Service Rifle Championship
June 23-25th Montana State Service Rifle Championship - XTC 100 shot, CMP EIC Leg match, and team matches. Courses of Fire to follow in a few weeks.

What consideration have you given to dates for 2018?
Seeing as Raton will have the Nationals back mid September and not sure when a SOA will run but usually around at time?
It would be fantastic to be able to compete in all 3 competitions in 2018?
All in close locations and I have been told by friends the Northern Rockies match is a must do!!

Yes, sorry about not posting info about it. The June match is our CMP State Service Rifle Championship (match rifles are welcome to participate as well). All matches are sanctioned by the CMP.
The weekend starts of with Friday afternoon's team match/training match for shooters wishing to receive assistance in positional shooting skills.
Saturday bring us XTC matches with matches at 200-300-500-600yds.
Saturday evening is our catered Famous Daves BBQ
Sunday starts with a Hearst Doubles 2 man team match followed by the CMP Excellence in Competition Leg match.

Yes there is tent/trailer camping at the range. Bathrooms that are clean. Pretty much a perfect set up.

We should have another great Northern Rockies NRA regional Tournament coming up. The tournament gets started in a few weekends with the F-class regional on September 8-10th and the sling portion of the tournament September 22-24th. The prone (sling) regional is sold out this time, with 1 person on the waiting list. The F-class regional has had some cancelations and there are room for 5 more shooters. We have a total of 96 people attending so far between both weekends - I wish we could expand the range to accommodate all in one weekend!!! IF you are interested on getting on on the F-class regional contact me by email.

We have a wide mix of competitors this year of all capabilities, but one thing I noticed is that we have more high masters than ever, both in the sling regional and the F-Open part of the F-class regional. A number of shooters are stopping in after shooting up in Canada at the FCWC.

I am still hopeful we will have a decent group of junior shooters to pull targets, but our thoughts are with them right now as many of them are in the Seeley Lake, MT area which has been in disarray due to wildfires.

In addition to some great shooting, we will have a great catered BBQ dinner Saturday evening. Adam MacDonald, autotrickler.com will have his trickler there as well as his Two Box Chrono and shooters will be able to demo the chrono at the matches. We are fortunate to have great industry support and I want to thank all of our match sponsors in the recent past.
