We need some more help gentlemen , what happened today?

I do not have scores. However, in F-Open, the team with John Myers won. I also spoke with Don Diffey (Bayou Boys) F-T/R team. They got their rears handed to them. However, he did state that the wind was so bad, at times MORE THAN A FEW SHOOTERS actually blew off the entire target! The shots were not "in the white cardboard area" they were actually OFF THE BOARD! There were several 5's and 6's and a 9 was a sought after score! Evidently, at times, no shots were fired for 7-10 minute stretches, waiting for "your" condition! With those miserable conditions, nobody shoots well...

That's the best I can do Mike..

Thanks Wade, that was a great report sir! Glad you didn't lose your rifles man.... I was sick all day just thinking about it, I'm serious.

Brutal today is all I got to say!!!

Keith, were you shooting the .300WSM? How did those 230's fare?

I sure did Ben......but they got pushed too!

How do you think they would have compared against your Shehane? No doubt, less drift>>>but how much would you guesstimate?
[br]
They are no panacea, Ben. Shot equally well, they provide a small advantage over many shots. The downside is that a .284 Shehane or .284 Win requires almost no attention while shooting and a .300 WSM with 230's must be managed constantly. So, after firing ~5000 230's in competition, I don't think the overall advantage is significant. And, if not managed properly, a disadvantage.

Thanks Steve.. I appreciate your input here.. You still have to read the wind (which at 1000 yards I leave a lot to be desired) and still have to control the rifle and develop accurate loads.. Thanks again Steve..

Last day and I have never seen people bundled up like they are today and hanging on so not to get blown away..... Holy crap!

I just spoke to Johnny about the conditions. Presently, it is 25+ M.P.H. with gusts much higher! If that continues, scores will suffer..

How'd you like to be in the leaders shoes right now with that wind Ben? I bet Gossnell is smoking cigarettes 2 at a time right now, lol Here comes a blood bath! Oh yeah, did anybody notice that Lester Bruno is in this? I just talked to him at NBRSA Natls, he must be around 80 by now... I had no idea that he shot any Fclass. He's doing pretty good too!

I just got a text from Johnny. They had to take all the tents down and everybody is standing on their mats to keep them from blowing away! Now shooting is supposed to be fun! To me anyway, that 'taint fun at this point!
