Great shooting Keith, congrats!.....All that drinking on vacation got you sharp and ready for the match.....lol

Thanks Jade & Don,

Jade there was indeed a lot of drinking and unfortunately one late night bus ride home a lot of heaving!!!! Lmao

Was that the night you woke up engaged the next morning?? Lmao

No, completely sober for that one!!

Congratulations to Keith Weil who won the F-Open Delaware State Championship with a two day aggregate score of 1194-64x, with a 600-37x on Sunday.... it is always fun to watch Keith shoot.

High Delaware Resident in F-Open was Dave Kokoska with an 1180-47x
High Delaware Resident in F-T/R ( and High Delaware Woman) was Holly Cooper.
High Delaware "Sling Shooter" was Tom Snodgrass with an 1192-60x.

Sorry, these are all preliminary (unofficial scores) so I don't have the over Sling Champion - unless it happened to be Tom? I also don't have the F-T/R Champion either, for the same reason..

But CONGRATULATIONS to Keith - thanks for coming down from PA! I wanna be just like him when I grow up.....

DE-F-Open

Follow-up

Final results are now out - the Overall F-T/R Winner and Overall Ladies Champ was Carole Valentine with a two-day aggregate score of 1179-53x.. She's excited, that score and her other recent scores means that she's on her way to Mid-Range High Master.

CONGRATULATIONS Carole!

Now it's time to break out that .308 and come shoot Long Range with us.

John

Thanks, John. We will see about the HM....classification updates remain a mystery to me! LOL The important thing is that other ladies who might be interested in getting into competitive shooting realize that it CAN be done with a .223 at mid-range. My little Savage 12 FTR .223 (affectionately known as "Sweet Pea") is a pleasure to shoot. Work will begin this week on the .308.

Congrats Carole and don't count your "Sweet Pea" out at 1K. The Berger 90 VLDs with a 6.75 to 7-twist barrel are an effective combination. I shot a Palma match with my son's 223 and scored 442/450 with it. One of our Phoenix sling shooters has won several 1K matches with the same 223 combination.

Carole,

You've got a little time to get that Long Range rifle or load ready.......

Next Long Range match at Bridgeville will be the weekend of June 27th & 28th followed in July with another Long Range on July 19th - that's the weekend when we have the Mid-range (3x600) on Saturday (7/18) and then the long range 3x1,000 on Sunday -

Again - Great shooting!

John
