Today's Folsom Club Match portion of the week followed yesterday's squadded practice.
As usual, winds were light in the early strings and kind of nuts in the latter two distances.
Five minutes of wind (plus holds) with three-minute let ups; shooting paired fire it led to a lot
of guessing, errrrr I mean calculating....

F-Class attendance today was light but I expect a good turnout this weekend (some have to work, you know).

Noma Mayo topped the Sling-shooting masses with another of her usual performances only dropping a few points at 1K and none elsewhere.

Somehow I managed to keep the Dasher pointed in the right general direction to squeak out 1st in F-Class, despite shooting like a blind man at 1K.

Team Matches are tomorrow.

I am really happy to see that my old friend Steve Raeder is putting rounds down range. Good to see your name on the leader board, Steve. :) [br]
Good luck on the weekend!

I was paired up with Steve today; a nicer guy you won't find.

Steve used three rifles today, a 30BR @ 300, 6BRX @ 600 and .284Shehane at 9 & 1k.

Too bad you can't join us, Mr Blair!,

Did Sweden prevail? Did the winning F/O teams drop less then 20 points per shooter? Did "Team Scotch" put out for today's party or are they waiting for the Palma as planned? The entire shooting community is anxiously awaiting these results.

Yes and no;
- Team Finland brought their A-game and beat Team In&Out, although Team In&Out was the only team were both shooters had the same score!
(New NRA rules should look into to penelty's for leaving team mates behind. Maybe .5 per point spread? That would bring up the team spirit :)
- Also Team Finland's member flags didn't quite match, maybe some new union.
- F/O 1 only dropped 17 points, F/O 2 had a slinger in training and they went a little wider ;D
- No scotch this Friday :( (next one though)
- Ron shoot a 100-8X on 600, but we balanced that out at 900/1000 :(
- Sean did really well and was just behind Gary&Gary&Jerry
- 1st F team had 23Xs, 2nd F had 20, 3rd had 20 and fourth had 17.
It was pretty gusty today as we reached 900/1000, but it was moving all day.

Should be less wind tomorrow.

(no scores posted today as they only put all score-cards on display)

So who got "left behind"and was it figuratively or literally?

Figuratively;
- they had some 10+p difference between them and that should be a 5p penalty
- we had a zero point spread within the team and the penalty would be 0p
Oh well, by current rules we lost by 4p :)

shucks Was hoping to see who Noma was shooting with and Who Eric Smith was shooting with... Guess Ill have to wait.

Congratulations Nick and Peter. It looks like Peter should keep one eye in the rear view mirror. And, I see that Noma continues to spank the boys and make them cry. ;)

Thanks!
Today was string-fire and 4 relays, and the later relays in Sac always tend to have more wind to fight at each yard-line. It was great top see how the wind suddenly stopped at 1,000y for the 4th relay - maybe they would get their moment in the sun and make up some points?
- But the break only lasted for some 5 shots, then the whipping started again :'(

Tomorrow will be pair-fire - probably in scoring order. That usually makes for a very interesting finish.

And maybe T/R gets to go first this time ;D

F-Open should be a nail biter tomorrow. I was paired with Gary Evans who shot a whole pile of Xs today. But we're all chasing Pete White.

Forecast tomorrow is cooler with possible rain later, we'll see!

Today's match was shot under near-perfect conditions until the 4th string at 1,000 yards.
I'll be adding a summary, scores and photos as soon as I can get in front of the computer.

Lots to tell about the attendees and their performances!
