Re: 2014 F-Class Midwest Championship at St. Louis on July 10th!-RESULTS!
Mike is a HOOT. Thank you guys for letting me come shoot with you all. This was my first ever F Class match. It was such fun to work the pits again after 10 years. The way the morning started out....no wind, I told Joh Ross this is going to take a 600 point score and X's will detrmine the winner.
But good old St. Louis, the wind did play some role, though it never got too bad. Mark Walker was scoring for me in the third target and I pulled a 9 somewhere in the string. I think I yelled out an explative and said something like "Well, that's the end of that." I had dropped 2 points by then and just knew it was over, considering the guys you are shooting against.
Now, a special shout out to Don Rabun, who "advised" me after the award ceremony, that the next time I come back to Big Piney......."We are going to be laying for you!" How can you dislike Don? He is one of the bestest guys there are.
Mike, just so you know, I paid those two guys to let you beat them. Anything for you buddy.
That was one of the most fun matches I have ever shot in and again, I thank you all, excepting Mike. I walked down the line that morning, Mike asked if I was there to shoot. Yes. What bench are you on? I don't know, I just got here. Well, you have to have a bench; which one are you on so I can write it down. Mike, I just this second got here; what do you mean....what bench am I on? Wilson, you have to be on a bench, which one is it?
John Ross, can you give me a hand here; what the hell is he talking about? Mike, I have never shot in one of your matches before; what are you wanting me to do? Mike said, put $40 in the can here, what bench do you want? I don't know, is bench 20 open? Bench 20, Wilson is in for 40 bucks. Whew, at least I am paid, have a bench and Mike is finally off my ass.
Can you believe that they managed to get 47 shooter there for a Thursday match? Well, they did.
Thanks to Mike and all the rest for hosting and putting on one of the most competitive and entertaining matches of all time.
A special hats off to Mike, he made it all happen.
Thanks Mike,
