2014 F-Class-HP schedule @ St.Louis & results

Re: 2014 F-Class-HP schedule @ St.Louis

Mike,

Is there anything we can/should do before April 3 if we would like to be considered as potential F/TR Class team members?

Thx!

Alex

PS. Edited to specify F/TR (not just F Class)

Sure is and you just did, using this post to submit a request for a team is a good start. If you know any of the other shooters that you want to team up with then give them a call or email. Brett Mitchell should be able to put you in contact with other members of the club if you have someone in mind. I would revise your post with the class you want to participate in.

Re: 2014 F-Class-HP schedule @ St.Louis

I have been on the phone with John Perkins and Phil Kolkman the last couple days about an idea John has to make a video of the team match with a RC HELICOPTER. I am going to give the team match an extended blow off period at the start to accommodate this so he can film from a angle in front of the line before the match starts. This should be a really cool thing thing that I think everyone will enjoy. They will post it here on accurate shooter when it is put together.

Re: 2014 F-Class-HP schedule @ St.Louis

Besides being a master machinist John Perkins is a master RC controller. He even has an R/C airstrip in his yard! Should be interesting!

Re: 2014 F-Class-HP schedule @ St.Louis

The prize table for the team match is starting to take shape with the help of some great guys in our shooting community. We will give out everything as attendance prizes so that each participant has equal opportunity to win. I am hoping to have enough for everyone to get something for coming to the match.

I'll ship out a few small targets and a gift certificate early next week courtesy of Custom Mfg Co/ Alloy Targets.
Best of luck in your endeavor. Sounds fun.

HiGuys,

Thanks Pete, the Old Hot Rod 10-300 Ultimate Bipe is still in one piece. :o Mike I was thinking to help promote this sport
Getting video in front of the line, at the start of a Match. Shooting video the hole length of the line. Maybe even some
candid shots of live firing. ??? Something I have been Thinking about for a while. I have a very stable electric platform
with a Go-Pro mounted should make for some entertaining video. I think this will help some shooters, that were just
thinking about going to a Match. Actually participate in a Match :). Thanks, John

One thing about John Perkins is that he has no shortage of great ideas. I think the film is going to be a excellent promotion of our sport. John has offered to sponsor the first place trophies for the match and I want to thank him for his commitment to the shooting sports.

Re: 2014 F-Class-HP schedule @ St.Louis

Team shooting is a lot of fun and very rewarding.

If you can have a dedicated coach to call the wind it is helpful, otherwise your best wind reader on the team can easily be a coach and shooter as well. The shooter should not second guess the coach and simply shoots where asked to. If you have worked with a coach a long time, then there is more communication between coach and shooter (like you will see on the below video link). Otherwise the shooter simply has to release a good shot.

Here's a video of F-Open Team shooting at 800 yards. The shooting begins around 4:50, but there are a few helpful scoring and technical points earlier on.

The range was moved after the 93 flood to wright city, Mo. That is west of St.Louis about 40 miles off I-70 and a few more miles north of there. Look up Shootingstl.com for directions.

OK, I just talked to master range officer David Lingle and we are on his schedule for the 3rd and 4th of may. This guy is great!! We still have a few folks working on their teams so let me know if you are in the same boat so I can get you together.

Re: 2014 F-Class-HP schedule @ St.Louis

Hey guys and gals, the calendar waits on nobody and the first match is just one month away already. I'm sure the weather will improve immensely between now and then. I hope, !!! We award the people with the best average last year at the first match and always award 1st place medals at every monthly.

Here is a picture of the Rosewood clock trophies for the team match. These are working clocks that are guaranteed for life. Between these and the line-up of great prizes putting a team together is a no-brainer!

The Apr 3rd monthly match is next week on Thursday. This is a good opportunity for new shooters to get wet and we have a bench class for the people that can't shoot prone. 2x15 with lunch after the match. Get signed up before 8 am so we can sort out the relays. There is a sight in period starting at 8:30 and score fire will begin at 9:00 am. $20 entry
