2013 Tennessee Mid-Range State Championship

Looks Like our BBQ guy is all set up and the trophies ordered. Should be a good turn out again this year. See you there.

A few of us Missouri shooters are wishing we could make it to this event. Just too much going on! Good luck to all of you!

Pete Petros

F-Open

Matt Owens - 598-34
Bo Hood -598-32
Jim Fowler -597-34
Danny Biggs -595-31
Alton Britt- 595-26

Sorry, but F-Open was the only scores I snap photo of. I do know that Doug Flether shoot a clean 600 with a borrowed rifle and shells..Russ is such a nice guy!!

I believe Russell Myers took F/TR
591 24x
592 31x
1183 55x total

Jim Murphy tied with score, but lost out on the X count.

I think Ronnie Ralston took the TN title with 1181 59x.

Great match and a really fun shoot, but I had to run before the scores were finalized.

I know how but.... Winning and not being declared the Sate champ is kinda retarded.

How many times does this have to be explained. The match could have been closed to those non-residents, but it's not. At any TN state championship all TN residents have to be a member of the state association to even compete. (TNSSA) I won't even get started on that. (I hear that the BPCR guys have to join state assn's just to compete in a lot of out of state matches. It's state assn's funding their annual dinner)

How "retarded" do you have to be not to understand that there is a championship awarded to the top shooter in Tennessee, or Alabama, or pretty much any other state where someone takes the time to organize a match and and get this, in Tennessee it's called the Tennessee State Championship. Who'd have thunk it!?

This happens a lot. Easy explanation, as every match program involved declares, is the State Champ must be a state resident. Kinda like being a Governor....

Trust me there should be great pride taken in either being the State Champion or the Match Winner shooting in the competition that gets together to shoot these matches around the country. As a non resident to many of the State Championships, I appreciate the opportunity to compete regardless of who gets what title.

Mississippi went to the same format last year because of neighboring states doing the same. Texas is the only state I know of that doesn't separate, although I'm sure there are others.
