We wish all our readers a happy, safe, and prosperous New Year. We hope that, in 2012, you’ll enjoy your precision rifles, spending “quality time” at the range with friends who share your “addiction to accuracy”. We’ve made major upgrades to our Shooters’ Forum this year, and our audience is bigger than ever. We hope you’ll continue to enjoy our feature articles, our Daily Bulletin, our match reports, and our Free Forum Classifieds.

Forum Membership Grows 23%
We experienced big growth in our Forum this past year. Membership expanded by 23% as member ranks swelled from just under 13,000 members to over 16,000 members! The Forum Classifieds section, with an effective seller/buyer feedback system, is more active than ever.

User Support is Important.
For over seven years the site has relied largely on volunteer efforts by dedicated shooters. But as the site grows, adding more sophisticated features, we need the assistance of professional gunsmiths, writers, and movie editors. Those guys don’t work for glory alone.

The site reaches over 100,000 shooters every WEEK. If the majority of those users could provide a small donation every year, we could deliver more stories, more tests, more Gun of the Week features, and more videos.

In the past quarter about 50 site users have generously donated to the site. We thank all those who have contributed (at any time). But that still leaves tens of thousands of users who access the site regularly without contributing.

Here’s our proposal. First, if you have used our FREE Classifieds to successfully sell your rifles or shooting gear, consider sending in a dollar or two from your sale proceeds. For those who use the site regularly, consider donating One Dollar a Month. What what do you pay for a movie ticket these days? Probably $8.50 or more ...

For a buck a month ($12 a year) you can help this site provide a YEAR’s worth of info, tests, and shooting news that you won’t find anywhere else.

How to Contribute
Making a donation to the site is simple and easy. Just click on the “Donate Button” in the right column. If you have a credit card, you don’t need a Paypal account to contribute. Any sum is welcome — donations need not be large. While on the Paypal page you can leave a short note with your Forum log-in name so we can list you as a "Site Contributor".

If you don’t like Paypal, you can send a check. Make the check payable to our Asst. Editor Jason Baney. Please list your Forum Log-In Name (if any), and mail the check to:

User Donations to Support the Site -- Two Dozen so far...

We have received about 55 donations so far since January 1st. That's great, but we're running behind last year's totals.

If you use the site regularly, and have never contributed before, please consider donating a buck a month, i.e. $12 a year. A buck a month is less than the price of a cup of coffee.

As the forum grows, so does our overhead, as we have to add new layers of server capacity to handle the increased traffic. User support helps us pay those bills.

MLC -- thanks for your donation. You'll see we've updated your profile to show you are a valued "Site Contributor". If the majority of our readers kicked in a few bucks we could significantly increase the content we deliver -- maybe even have a weekly web video-cast with top shooters and component-builders.

Dear Forum Boss:

Just wondering what percentage of Members support this great site by contributing to help defray expenses?

I just noticed on a recent post on the main message board that 2 Members who have completed 16 trade transactions on this Site have apparently not contributed a single penny to support it?

I guess in a society where only half pay income taxes and the top 20% pay the way for the other 80% this is to be expected?

$12 per year is not asking much, and given the expense of the hobby one must entertain to be interested in this site, well within the reach of each and every Member belonging to and taking advantage of this site!!!

Come on guys pony up!!!

Jim

6 months since my last donation is long enough. I just donated again and I spend more on coffee than you do so I gave more than 12 bucks.

I just made one of my yearly donations and intend to give more in the near future. Thanks for the best site on the net. Jon

Paul,
Sorry, it's been a couple months probably but I have bought several things off the site since my last donation and I bought them at a good savings, thanks for the best forum on the net and for the free classifieds, I buy from it all the time, it's been great, purchased some Lapua brass this morning and as long as the paypal account was up I thought what the heck, sent you two years and a cup worth ;) Thanks again Paul, keep up the great work.
Wayne.

P.S,..I always love to reply #15, puts me at the top of the second page LOL. Page two guy's just a buck will help and $12 is the goal. I work nights and am off to bed but when I get up and see that this has made it two page three and the bulk of the posts were of donation notices I will send Paul another years price and he can give a non contributor of his choice the credit,....so keep the $ flowing and I will spend some more this afternoon ;)

Sending you my contribution and going to double it so I am paying for some slacker that probably burns up the for sale section but is too cheap to pay cause they are deadbeats.

Good job and glad to be able to help out!

John

HI BOSS, BEEN A WHILE SINCE I READ THE MAIN FORUM, HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU TOO. I BUY WAY MORE THAN I SELL, BUT I COULD NOT BUY IT IF THERE WAS NO SITE. 12 BUCKS A YEAR DON'T SEEM LIKE ENOUGH FOR WHAT WE GET SO I PUNCHED THE BUTTON AND MADE UP FOR A FEW MORE.
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK, I REALLY APPRECIATE IT, THANKS, FARMERJOHN

Glad to help for another year, I also drink double the coffee so I reflected that in my contribution.

I didn't see a place to send you a note on PayPal so maybe you can update my status. Thanks for a great site!

Roland Smith
