2010 IBS Score Nationals

As you no doubt know by now, the IBS 100-200 yard Score Nationals will be held August 26, 27, 28,29, 2010 at the Holton, Michigan Rod And Gun Club. What you may not know is that I have begun knocking softly on doors for donations of merchandise to be used as prizes at the Nationals. I like to refer to these donations as inexpensive advertising. To date our items of inexpensive advertising are:
One rifle finish by Hydro-Dip Hydronics
One Bartlein Rifle Barrel
I will edit this post as the list grows or I will post anew if I can't edit and add..

After a telephone conversation with Jim Kelbly, I am happy to say that Kelbly, Inc. is also contributing merchandise to be awarded at the IBS 2010 Score National.

More door knocking has netted some more awards for the 2010 IBS 100-200 Score Natioal Championship. The additional prizes are:
Two (2) Mike Lucas Rod Guides. Both of these Mike Lucas Rod Guides are for 30BR

$100 gift certificate for any of Lynwood and Walter Harrell's fine products. Donated by Harrell Brothers

One Chamber Reamer of your choice from Dave Kiff at Pacific Tool and Gauge.

One stainless steel micrometer top seater die for the cartridge of your choice from Jon Morrison at L.E. Wilson.

One 6X scope from Leupold and Stevens

10X Bullets from Dick Baier and Chad Schmidt of 10X Bullets, who will be at the match and handing out bullets.

The brown truck brought 1000 .45 ACP cases divided into 2 -500 case bags to be given away at the 2010 IBS National courtesy of Colorado Brass Company and MikeInCo.

Today the post office lady brought us a $250.00 certificate from Dave Manson of Dave Manson Reamers. That's a chunk of reamer, man.
If there are any vendors or manufacturers who wish to indulge in some inexpensive advertising via the merchandise donation route, send me an e-mail or give a phone call.

This is sounding really great! Thanks for all the hard work! I am going to do my very best to be sure i can attend this shoot. I love the game of score. Will these prizes be for the winners only or will the lesser shooter have a shot at some of these nice prizes. Thanks again! Lee

The prizes are done as a random draw from among the entrants. A competitor number is drawn and that competitor walks up and pulls an item number out of a hat. No one knows what who will win. There are numerous trophies (some huge), hat pins, patches for the winners and near winners.

And yet another prize has arrived at the home of Francis.
Butch Lambert of Shadetree Engineering and Accuracy in Poetry, Texas has donated a barrel tuner. Thank you very much, Butch

I am on a first name basis with Kerri, the post office lady. Today she brought me two envelopes.

Two (2) $25.00 gift certificates from Lester and Amy Bruno of Bruno's Shooting Supply.

Two (2) 50% discount certificates for 100 pieces of totally prepped brass from Ron Hoehn of Hoehn Sales, Inc.

I failed to mention that Matt Guthrie received:

Two (2) sets of custom earplugs from Nancy Scarborough. Obviously you or at least your ears must be present to win. I should think we'll have to draw for these on Friday when everyone is there and there is time to have the ear plugs formed and made.

Kerri, the sweet post office lady, brought us two envelopes through the driving snow storm.
Russ Haydon sent us:
One (1) $25.00 certificate

Krieger Barrels sent us:
Two (2) $75.00 ceretificates from Krieger Barrels.

Yesterday the brown truck brought us a box of goodies from Iosso. The 100 "goodie bags" contain a sample of Iosso Gunbright. There are also three kits that contain a 30 cal brush, bore cleaner paste, Eliminator gun oil, and a tube of Gunbrite Polish. Thank you Iosso.

Couple more items to be added to the list
Larry "Great Scott" Scott of Cadiz, Kentucky donated a 50% discount certificate for a Jewell Trigger.
Jim (JLC Precision) Carstenson donated $25.00 certificate for any of him work.

We received;
Four (4) sixteen ounce bottles of Butch's Bore Shine donated by Lyman Corporation. Are you guys looking to see who helps us in our time of need? Remember our sponsors.

Some have asked, "Where do I sign up for the 2010 IBS Score Nationals?"
Here is what Matt Guthrie posted on the other bench rest site:

Please pre-register for this match by sending me an e-mail to scorenationals2010@yahoo.com stating your intent to participate. Or you may send a letter of intent to:

United Parcel Service delivered a nice package from Bill Gravatt at Sinclair International.
We received four (4) $50.00 gift certificates good toward the purchase of any fine products in the Sinclair International catalog. Bill even sent four new Sinclair catalogs. There are a lot of goodies in that catalog.
We also received four (4) ceramic Sinclair coffee mugs. I guess you can use them for other liquids, Bill Gammon.

Thank you very much Bill Gravatt and Sinclair International.

Did I tell you we received a $100.00 gift certfifcate from Kenneth Humbert at JGS Reamers. JGS make many other things that this certficate can be used for from their catalog. Thank you Kenneth Humbert. Thank you JGS Precision.

Seb posted this morning on "one of those other benchrest sites" that he is indeed donating a NEO Seb front rest to the 2010 IBS 100-200 Score National. I spoke to Seb a while ago and he was trying to get the rest out of prototype stage and into production. He has succeeded and is sending me a front rest. He also stipulated that the rest is to go to the winner of the two gun aggregate. That will be for the winner of the VFS and of the 6 power stage. This means you will have to be the master of two distinctly different rifles. These aren't redundant classes. In this case one rifle can be 13.5 pounds, 3 inch wide fore end, any power scope. The second (or is it the first) rifle can have no higher than 6 power magnification, no wider than 2. 25 fore end, have a cut out for a magazine capable of holding 2 cartridges of the caliber being shot, an action that is no wider than 1.400 inches, not heavier than 10 pounds. Now that's a challenge, wouldn't you say?

Bill Scheider is coming all the way from Beaufort, SC and he is bringing five (5) 100 round boxes of .30 caliber 117 grain bullets to be used as prizes.

We have a sponsor:

The brown truck today brought three 42 inch .30caliber stainless steel cleaning rods today. Pro-Shot makes one of the best rods out there and deserves your business. Thank you Pro-Shot.

Everyone's favorite postal lady, Kerrie, dropped off an envelope with two - 50% discount certificates from Redding. That's 50% off anything in their catalog but not including special order items. Many benchrest people use many of Redding's fine reloading products.
