200.20x. Why do you use them?

Got a couple of hundred of the 20x to try. See how they fare against the 200h in my bartlein. I have a real good baseline for the 200h so let’s see what they are all about. Anyone want to suggest a start point with seating depth and Varget and cci450’s?

I shoot them 12 thou off the lands... ~ 2660fps

If you have the .170 freebore chamber that most use and are using Lapua Palma brass start at 43.0 gr and work up. Most guys are somewhere between 43.5 to 44.5 with that combo. As for seating depth, I'm at .012 off the lands but that differs from barrel to barrel. You can run your powder test in that area then tweak it for best accuracy. Don't be scared to jump test further out with this bullet. One of my barrels hammered at .025 jump and I've talked to others jumping more than that. Just depends.

Yes 170fb. Will start at 43 and work up with 10 or 15 jump then work on the seating depth.

I would not be afraid to Start lower I started to shoot the 200 20x last spring and tryed the high node and low node my barrle loved to send those big bullets slow I'm using 40.08 gn varget out of a 32 in bartlein barrel shot a. 200 13 x at mid range and a 199 9x at long range with that load

Did a ladder today with powder charge starting at 43 and up to 44gr of Varget. Then repeated it. Shots 3, 4 and 5 are the same charges as 2, 3, 4 on the second ladder I just didn’t get someone crossfire on my target the second time around. Looks like there’s something there between 43.6 and 44gr to explore further. Distance was 700m (almost 800yds)
