20 Vartarg / 221 FB ammo box?

Hey the boxes I have that claim to fit 221FB make the cases too hard to grab the plastic dividers come up too high.
Any suggestions for boxes that hold the ammo and i can use without having to resort to tweezers.

Try the Berry's brand. The bottom half is much shorter than the MTM. It is what I use for both .221 Fireball and 20 Vartarg.

Like Mike said, try Berry's. I got some from Graf & Son and another time from Brownell's. They are inexpensive, well made and hinged.

Mike is correct. The Berry's boxes are perfect for the 221FB case. Soon as I discovered this about four years ago, I got rid of all my MTM boxes used for my 20VT and FB's at a gun show.





Another feature I like about these boxes is that the top lays flat when open; much easier to grab a loaded round out of the box. The empty case also sticks up just enough above the dividers to be able to grab an empty case also.....finally a box that seems to have been made for the little FB case.

simply place empty mouth over bullet of fresh round at an angle

presto ! I can do it while keeping my eye in the scope & finding next target

Cut tiny squares out of foam maybe 3/8” tall. Stuff in box grid. Makes getting empty cases out easy too.

Do these spill all the fired cases when you turn it upside down with the lid closed?

Know what you’re talking about. I resorted to the empty-case trick a long time ago, and I never put rounds in the outside spaces - especially at the ends of the box.
I recently opened a box of Lapua .221 FB brass I’d been saving (good stuff; gotta order some more!) The plastic box it comes in has those handy-dandy case holders molded into both the bottom and top halves. To re-use that box for loaded rounds so they don’t spill when standing up, I plan on cutting a second piece of foam (or a single thicker one) to fill the extra space.

I works to use a loaded round to grab an empty out of the box too!

Digging up this old thread and wondering if these berrys boxes are still the best for 20vt loaded and empty cases?
Went to the store and forgot to bring a dummy round to test. And rather then buying couple of ones decided to go back another day

We use Frankford Arsenal box # 504 that is the 50ct box it also has the hinged top , they work good .
I haven't used the Berrys

I came across these when I ordered some loaded .17FB and .221FB ammo from Nosler ,the ammo was packaged in these boxes

To further the discussion, the Berry's boxes have enough of a 221FB case above the partitions to easily grab and remove a fired case. Hingld lid lays flat when open too, nice on the bench while shooting.

Out of all the various box brands out there, the Berry's is THE one for the FB case. See post #7 above.

For what we all do, it appears we have two boxes worthy of our attention for the 221FB/20VT, FA and Berry's. Great to have choices.

Eggman, does the FA box lid lay flat on the bench when open?
