Nice. MTM and the others should take notes. Those boxes with the molded-in hinge are bogus, the top will not stay open enough to grab a fresh round out of the box. The hinged boxes are the hot chit.

Like I said, good to have choices.

Fern, I use the Berry's 100 rnd plastic boxes for all my rat rifles. They nest perfectly four to a .50 cal ammo can. When going for a week long rat outing, I take two cans (800 rnds) for each rifle. Seldom shoot that many, but it's better to have and not need than.....

I found I had a berrys box and tested it out. As mentioned they fit perfectly. You can get shot spent cases easily better then the mtm brand. The spent cases fall out if you turn it upside down so as mentioned by another member I cut a piece of foam for the lid and dummy round doesn’t touch the foam and it’s thick enough to keep the spent cases from falling
Now I want to toss my mtm ones to replace them with berrys.

I prefer the 100 round boxes but Berry's does not offer them in the 30M1/Hornet caliber boxes.

As mentioned above, spent VT cases fall out of their retainers if the 223 boxes are tipped over.

Empties stay in place with the 50 count 30M1/Hornet boxes if tipped over.

Its why I use the 44 mag MTM, in a hot rat patch I dont wanna be digging for more boxs.

10-4....didn't know MTM boxes were tall enough.

I tried some of my 44Mag boxes and they are not.

I purchased 24, 50 count, 30M1/Hornet Berry's boxes recently...enough to fill two ammo cans...so my VT is set for the next PD uprising.

They are for my 20VT using 34 V- nitemares, I guess they might not be if you use 39 or 40 gr bullets.
My OAL is 1.775

Yes, I use 40 VM's....probably a little more OAL.
