Looking for more opinions on powders for the 20 Titan. Currently running 55gr bergers and yes i have plenty of them with 8208 at 3500 fps fireforming brass from necked down 6.5 Grendel. What other powders should I try.

No just looking at options, seeing around 3500 fps which is plenty of speed.
Not sure if you run QL or GRT, but just a suggestion.

If you know your fired case H2O capacity, and typical seating depth, it isn't very difficult to get QL or GRT to "game out" a powder suggestion list. The codes will even accept constraints like desired pressure, case fill, percent burnt, etc., and limit the list to those powders that meet the constraints.

Not counting the powders that we cannot find in the US or due to obsolescence, the codes spit out very good suggestions based on cartridges I knew long before those codes came out.

Anyway, just a suggestion on an easy way to get a pretty refined list of candidate powders. YMMV

# 105-134 on Hodgon burn rate chart…
Just have to see on the upper end how much you can get in the case…a 12” drop tube might help& a slow pour..

Since your on the heels of a plain 20BR case, those powders will get ya close- search 20BR powders/ loads…

Doubt you’ll ever see 4000-3800fps with the 55gr bullets- closer to 3600fps max, w/o losing a primer pocket- you need a 20-250-20x47L case capacity to achieve those velocities

Why do you say slower powders? I'm thinking faster burning from 84-110.

I know of h4350 in a 22 ARC with heavy bullets which is the top end of what you suggested.

You may or may not want the highest velocity possible. ( I would) …What does seem to correlate well, is a case that is very close to 100% full of powder when shooting at the velocity range that your bullet likes.

That won't necessarily guarantee a great load. But, in general, a powder choice with 95-102% load density will often give better results than a similar powder that only fills 80% of the available case capacity.

Powder load density
do little reading..

Update Alpha has released 6.5 grendel brass. I will be necking some down tonight to test this weekend possibly. Will get a case capacity as well to compare to starline and lapua

First thoughts. I can't size it down straight to 22 arc like I can lapua and starline. Alpha 155 neck thickness. Can use a bushing die with a 248 then size down in 22 arc die. Add another step to 20 cal. May not be worth it me at this point.

Got a 20 ARC chambered and shot a few rounds with the Alpha 22 ARC brass.
H20 capacity was 34.84 and 34.88 between the two cases.
29gr of H380 was only good for 3400 with a 40gr vmax which seems extremely slow.
It’s about a 22” barrel on a CZ 527.
I’ll probably save the 55’s for the BRA, planning to shoot the 40gr bullets 3900+

I bet its in the ball game with a 22" barrel, you might get 50fps more with different powder. My PPCAI case are 33.5 H2O not a whole lot difference and I pressured out at 3500 in a 24" barrel with 15 and 15.5.
If you want BR case speeds then you need to go to the BR case.
