.20 Practical

looking for a 20 Practical AR barrel. I’ve searched but only getting CURRENT hits with White Oak. I’m hoping y’all can point me in the right direction.

CBI (Criterion) makes them too. Great company with great barrels

I also like CBI barrels, but have never seen any 20P barrels offered by them. Could you provide a link? Thanks!

Criterion barrels.com the site show various models. I could not find listing on calibers offered, but if you email/contact them, they could sure tell you if they do a chamber in 20 Practical. Bill K

I'm sorry, I was thinking bolt action. I would be surprised if they did not make an AR barrel in 20P because it's pretty popular with the AR guys? I imagine they would make one but it would probably take 8-10 weeks.

What are you going to use the rifle for?

I’m having one cut and chambered from a Shilen blank by Mike from Dedicated Technologies (Dtech) in Bemiji, MN. They have the blanks in stock and have a pretty quick turnaround time.

Mike is a top flight AR gunsmith. How much will that barrel end up costing? BTW, Mike has a jig built to square the upper receiver and offer's the service for a very little money. Turnaround time is rapid. Highly recommend that to anyone putting together a precision AR.

I don’t have a price on the barrel job alone. I’m having him build me a complete upper with Shilen 1:10 select match barrel. (fluted, threaded muzzle, BCG, CH, and hand guard)

Thank y’all for the great responses. I have visited every site listed. Some you can order 20P barrels, mostly not. I need to call those that I’m interested in.

Ratbuster - I just want one to play with- perhaps shoot crows and squirrels.

I am thinking 0 FB for the light bullets in an 11 twist barrel. Anyone see problems with that setup?

That's what I went with. Shooting some great groups with 40 gr Vmax and H-335

All my 20's have 3 groove, 1/11 twist bores and they shoot the 32-40 grain just great. Yours will also.

I am thinking 0 FB for the light bullets in an 11 twist barrel. Anyone see problems with that setup?

I run 11T & 12T in my bolt guns (Kriegers) , but went with 10T for my WOA barrel, and they all shoot very well. I run zero freebore with .233 necks.

My AR barrel is from Black Hole Weaponry and a 10 twist, 24" spr profile. Shoots great.

I have bought two Hart A/R .20p barrels and both shoot incredibly well - on par with higher-priced Kriegers and a bit better than the Shilens I have used. I'd use any of the three without hesitations

Excellent! I’m hoping to find an accurate load for the 40 grain Berger bullets when my DTech upper arrives.
