20 Practical Pre Fit or???

My PacNor experience with a PacNut barrel was great. First barrel swap that I've EVER done. I bought the super match grade stainless ($325), and paid them to chamber it($125). Threaded for PacNut, and cost of nut,($65). Thirty bucks shipping. I had the money saved, and didn't try to scrimp to save a buck.

I did get a great deal on a nut wrench and go/no go gauges on eBay, and had a local smith take my old barrel off. Had to force 20 bucks on him to do it, Jewing him up from ten.

This all seemed pretty expensive to me, but--- everything went together sweet as a peach, and my new rifle is grouping in the two's and three's without much load development or advanced loading technique.

I'm happy as a clam, and would do it again in a heartbeat. jd

Criterion barrels are impressive and their customer service is tops! Buy from Northland Shooters Supply for a significant savings vs.direct. I own 7 of them.

Thanks everyone for this amazing piece of internet history in which so many people agreed about the CBI barrels. My dad has been admiring my sub calibers (17fb/20vt) for some time now as he has always been a 223 guy. Looking forward to his project very much.

Two shots at 350 yards. 20 Practical
Criterion prefit. .305"

Savage and Remage nuts may use the same wrench for some remage manufacturers, but the threads are not the same IIRC.

The threads are not. Remington threads are 16 tpi and Savage are 20 tpi.
