20 PPC Powders

I am getting a new 20 PPC to use for prairie dogs and target shooting. Since I will probably be shooting a number of times in between cleaning, what powders would burn the cleanest for this cal. On this site, some mentioned as good for this caliber are H322, H4198, N135 and Varget. What other powders would give good accuracy and clean burning. I will probably be using a 40 Vmax most of the time.

To take advantage of the powder capacity of a PPC case, I'd look at powders with a burn rate in the range of Varget to H380.

N133 works the best for me. Clean, fast and accurate.

Warren are you using N-133 with the 40's or only 32's?

Either one, actually the 39 BK and the 32 VM. N133 is magic in the 20PPC.

Start at 26gr for the 32s and 25gr for the 40s and work your way up. The sweet spot for your rifle should be real close to these numbers depending on your lot. I have some N133 that is quite a bit slower than other lots I have used.

Have you ever tried Hodgdon's Benchmark in your 20 PPC? Viht 133 is very hard to come by and it looks like the burn rates are similar...I hope to have my 20 PPC soon.

Hey Phasor, no, I have never tried Benchmark in the 20 PPC. N133 works so well for me I haven't played with many other powders.

I have 4 lbs of N-133 and hope to get an 8 lb jug when I can find someone that has it in stock. I am going to try some Benchmark also to see how it does. Hope to hear soon from Greg about my rifle.
