22 ppc loads

I have a cooper model 21 headed my way and wanted to hear some of your favorite ppc loads. I have several different powders: H322, lt-32, vv133, H4198, varget, 8208 xbr as well as some berger, vmax and barts 50-52 gr bullets. Seems like 25-26gr of H322 behind a 52 gr barts/berger is a favorite. Any other pet loads you guys might share?

I used H322 in several Sako 22 ppc's with satisfaction. I found good accuracy with the Nosler Custom Competition 52gr. HPBT. Most of my rifles shot best at 27.5 gr and seat about .010 off the lands. This was a pretty warm load so start low and work up carefully.

27 grains VV N-133 & 26.5 H-335 each under a Sierra 53 grain Match bullet.
Sometimes the VV load needs to be reduced by a couple tenths and the H-335 load responds to adding a couple tenths.

. I use an old lot of H-335 we used in point blank benchrest years ago ( still in the gal. milk jugs ) and the old Remington 52gn. benchrest bullets to bust varmints. 27gns. with 205 std. Fed. primers is hard to shoot out of one hole. Problem is my Daughter very seldom lets me shoot it-- all I get to do is load the ammo. Bob Brackney fitted this up for me about 35 years ago on Alan Halls small action and I stocked it. No idea how many times we shot it but still shoots in one hole at 100 every year we check the zero. The 22PPC is an amazing varmint round.

I'm shooting the 53grn V-Max bullet with 28.8grns of IMR 8208XBR powder at 3400fps. Stiller predator action with a 24" Pac-Nor 12-twist #4 sporter barrel.

I took a slightly different tack by rebarreling my Sako A1 with a 8 twist Bartlein finished at 24" specifically for coyote and jack rabbits. This allows me to shoot the 75 gr. AMAX at a reasonable velocity which curtails some of the wind drift we experience out here in the Southwest where the wind always blows. The AMAX has to be seated long so I throated the chamber to accommodate this bullet seating. Powders run slightly different from the lighter bullets and include:

Ramshot Big Game
IMR-8208XBR
Re-15
And I'm testing some CFE-223 which may be just a touch too fast for a full case.

Generally, velocity will range from the lower 3025's to the high of 3100 fps. This is enough to let me shoot from 0 to 300 yards with reasonable drop/drift and plenty of remaining energy.

Regards.

I have been shooting my 22 PPC over the last two years and really enjoy our local prone rifles matches. I have a Bartlein 28" bbl in 1-8" twist and shoot the SMK 52 and Hornady 53 grain bullets as well as SMK 69's. I have thousands of 69's let from my service rifle days.
I like VV N135 at 25.5 to 26.0 and CCI BR primers. I could not tame the Varget and the H335 loads were a little hot.
