20 ppc barrel options

Hi folks. I will be doing a 20 ppc build on a savage large target action since I already have brass...dies...etc. My question is what barrel maker do you recommend and do any offer a veterans discount? I know I can go through NSS and get a Shilen, but just curious what everyone else is using and open to recommendations and any pictures you might have. This will be strictly a prairie dog and varmint gun. I want a heavy rifle as I won't be venturing far from the vehicle anyway and maybe I can actuallysee the carnage. 28-30 inch bull or similar contour. Shooting 55 g bergers so 1:9 twist or 8.5. Thanks.

Just pick one who makes a 9, im a 3G fan i know Pac- Nor makes one but I'm sure Krieger, Bartlien, Lilja etc are just fine. Carson Lilja ( Hoodoo) is on here i believe he does a 3G9 P.M. him.

Gabe is this a straight 20ppc or a Ai? Did you choose a zero freebore for both bullets or something in between?

Most of my 20s are Pac-Nor but my fat 20br is a Lilja and it has accounted for a few pds out past 500 yards up on the Wyoming/Montana border with the tiny 39 sbk. I like your idea of a fat barrel to help see your shots, my 20br barrel tapers from 1.6" down to 1.5" it is on a Nesika J that is 1.700" and was built back when Lilja only offered a 12 twist.Like Tommie said I don't think you can go wrong with any 20 caliber barrel maker as a matter of fact I'm thinking of trying a Hart for my XP100 20ARC pretty soon.

I chambered a 20 ppc for @GlennK on a Mullerworks cut rifled barrel. Its shooting great. Hes pushing the lighter bullets way over 4000fps for gophers.

Hart makes a first rate barrel. My Waldog was a Hart barrel and was the most accurate rifle I have ever owned.
