20 caliber accuracy

Hi,
This is my very first post so feel free to beat me up;) Anyway, I'm going to build a 20 caliber of some sort to harvest coyotes. I was told the 20 tac would be more accurate than the 20 practical or the 204 roger out to about 300 yards but from 300 on the 204 ruger would be better. Any thoughts on this theory?

Check out Saubier.com for more .20.
By reading several post on twenty calibers. With a good barrel most shoot very well.

Hey if you find yourself looking to buy neck bushings for a .20, I have some TiN Redding bushings I'm trying to find a new owner for. Contact me off list.

Figured I would toss up a pic. This was a group I shot when my Savage M12 LRPV in .204 ruger was new. About 20 shots down the tube.

Shot at 200 yards. Pretty damn good for an out of the box gun off of a bi-pod. ;D

been shooting my 20BR in 100 yard bench-rest comps, shooting off a Harris bipod ( I am a BR novice!!) with a bag under the butt we usually ag just over .4. there is usually a flier taking one group out into the .6s but also a couple of groups in the ,2/,3 area using Berger 50s.

With a pedestal I would expect to improve on that. Certainly beat a few Panda's last time out, not bad for my truck gun fox basher !,

I have a .20 PPC and a .20 Tac that both shoot just fine. My PPC is probably just a little more accurate and a bit faster but I kinda prefer my Tac for simplicity. I never felt like the PPC was head and shoulders above my no-frills CZ 527 Tac. Both barrels are Kriegers. The practical sounds like a good way to go but I still use a .223 Redding comp seater anyway. I still get good straight ammo out of it.

I went out and shot my 204 ruger out to 600 yards last weekend. Worked out pretty well. I was shooting into a 9mph 45 degree head wind.

The photo shows my different groups and how many MOA I dialed up from my 100 yard zero.

My 500 yard group was just under 2.5".

My point of aim for all the groups was the last zero in "500".

39gr blitzking in front of 25.3gr of reloader 10 and a CCI BR4 primer.

Kona, thats some fine shooting. Do you know what velocity is ?

dr foxtail,

There is very little difference between all three. The 20 Tac has the good Lapua brass. You can use the 223 Lapua, for the Practical. the 300 yds thing would not be the case for any of them. What is more accurate a 300 yds should stay the most accurate past 300 yds. I picked the 20 tac for the brass. The 20 P would be my next pick.

Just over 3800 FPS in the winter.

I had to back off this load for summer time shooting now.
