20 br twist rate ?

I want to build a 20br I am having a difficult time with choosing a twist rate I get a different answer every time I ask. I wanna run the 55 Berger and the Immussig 57. What twist will I need and any opinion on barrel manufacturer. I leaning toward a benchmark 6 groove, they seem too be nice people and have been the most helpful by far.

Thanks Corey

Berger Bullets says 1:8 twist.

There are several great barrel makers look at Pac-Nor as well.
I bought a 6.5X47 lapua, and have a .22BR on order.

Berger says 8 I have talked to others that say definitely 9. If I go with too fast rate of twist I am worried I will not be able to get velocity I am after without spinning bullets apart. Yes Berger says 8 but that is based off of what velocity? I talked to someone at Berger and he didn't convince me of anything ?

I ordered a 9 twist from Pacnor after getting alot of input from the guys at Saubier alot of guys there are shooting the 20br check them out alot of very good small cal info there

I shoot 55's in my 20BR using a 25.5" 8 twist Lilja. The speed is in the 3650 range, but the load is right on the verge of being too hot.

I haven't been in the 20 caliber barrel market for a while, but I still think you'll find that the caliber will definitely limit your choice of manufacturers.

I just recieved Todd Kindler's books ,"The Sensational Seventeens & The Terrific Twenties" from the Woodchuck Den.

Very informative for anyone inserested in .17's & .20's

Well I ordered a 9 twist Hart barrel today very nice people, the folks up at benchmark were super nice also and that goes a long way me. Should have barrel in a month and reamer will be here by then. I hope I made a good decision on the barrel.
