>>>>>>>$20.00.....COYOTE BOUNTY<<<<<<<< VIDEO

Tikka.... that is good information on WY... because I don't really want to interfere with coyote contest during Jan and Feb. Everyone is out after ground and holding dearly to their spots so they have dogs to shoot at during the contest. I like to spot and stalk more that calling, but I will call them in order to make them stick their heads out. I use to want them in my lap, but not anymore. I just like doing the sniper thing. I guess I'm leaning towards mid Dec-mid Jan this year. We'll see what happens. thanks...Dan

The Coyote contests start in November and go through February around here (my county), minimum of two per month, sometimes more. I think there was even one in March last year.

I'm an avid coyote hunter, but want nothing to do with contest hunting. IMO, contests create a lot of educated coyotes and bring out a lot of questionable ethics. I'll leave it at that. I do try to follow the contests just so I can plan my hunts and tactics around them accordingly. For reference it's not uncommon for two coyotes to take home the prize money with a field of up to 80 teams in January or February.

I take my coyotes any way I can get them, in my lap or 1000 yards (someday), just as long as they hit the dirt. I pack around a tripod to get over brush & steady enough for long shots, and shoot heavy-for-caliber-match bullets to buck the wind. You do know that if you spend a month hunting in most parts of Wyoming, you'll likely get 20+ days of 20+ mph wind, right:D ?

Have you considered hunting over bait (bait-sicles) to increase long range shot opportunities?

I'm just bringing this back to the top.... surely someone has some coyote spots.

It's a sad day when a guy can't even buy a dead coyote....LOL

Hunting over bait is okay, but it doesn't have the spot and stalk, unknown yardage shooting possibilities.

To me it's more about the sniping opportunities.

The wind is always a challenge for me out West... we don't really have to deal with that out here in SC... so Western winds add to the challenge.

Fredo... you are absolutely correct. Every fall I want to chase those coyotes... and every spring and summer I want to chase the groundhogs. We don't get to shoot those hogs down here in SC... just regular pork hogs. I would be happy to trade out some porker hog opportunities for some coyote or groundhogs if anyone is interested.
