>>>>>>>$20.00.....COYOTE BOUNTY<<<<<<<< VIDEO

That's right... $20.00 per coyote. I'm paying it. If a rancher will allow me to shoot some long range coyotes on his property... then I'm willing to pay him for the privilege.

I made a short Video Resume that will allow land owners to understand my intentions.

If you guys know of anyone that might be interested...then please send them this youtube video. Thanks Dan

Wow, for a second there I thought you were paying $20,000 per coyote.. ( the ",") comma used where a period may be better.
I work for a French company and they always use a comma where we use a period. It caught my eye. : ). Luck with those coyotes!! Kill em all..

Do a search on which state has the most coyotes and public land.
Get a GPS unit and a land ownership chip for that state and you should be good to go.

Sept. and early Oct, before rifle deer season, will be the most coyotes.

Some guys have a business card made up so the land owner doesn't lose your number.

Sale barns, cowboy bars and anyplace with pickups with bale feeders on the back are a good place to check.

And that is why land owners around here don't say yes any more when you ask... They now say 'how much $?', even for coyotes and prairie dogs... And it's the out-of-staters and their 'land lease' mentality that have turned the animals (owned by the public) into a commodity...

But, I'm sure you'll get plenty of takers.

You and anyone else are free to shoot as many as you want for free. I have never charged anyone to hunt anything on my properties. Just don't leave any trash and no shooting at the cows or neighbors. Well unless the neighbors interfere with your hunting.

Yotehater.... I really do appreciate your permission to chase your coyotes, and I have you and another TX guy on top of my list to contact.

When I made that video, there was no mention of money... I added that later on... thinking it might help a little bit... BUT... negative minded people have made this sound like I'm bad for offering the small thank you fee.... and it also makes the rancher sound like he's bad for taking my offer.

Man O Man... you can't win no matter what you do. Some people would complain that the 50 dollar bill I gave them was wrinkled instead of crisp.

If hunters were more concerned about giving ranchers a thank you, appreciation gift, of some kind, then they wouldn't always look like a welfare case with their selfish hand out.

Believe me... I've had my hand out a lot... and it's still out there... just not quite as empty as before...LOL

What's the market value of any given product?
Answer: what someone is willing to pay for it..
I hunt other critters.. and I am always looking for places to hunt. Only once has the lander owner charged.. we paid.. but most land owners have become best of friends. We take care of these folks with dinners, and other products that myself and my hunting buddy have access to ( at cost)..

I was flabbergasted when I learned that a guide should be tipped on a paid hunt. I figured that was part of the hunt. But I am still learning more every day. Taxes will hit you on the fees pretty good and don't get caught speeding.

But back to you wanting long range yotes I will tell where you can get a lot. Look into southwest Wyoming. The blm land is stuffed full of them. You can hunt thousands of acres for hardly nothing. Stay to the Kemmerer, Rock Springs, La Barge areas and you will find that 1000 yard coyote. They're everywhere. Especially around the sheepherds.

I signed up for the Utah bounty thing the very first year they had it... but never went there... ended up in Western Ks for my month long coyote adventure.

I've thought about Wy several times... and got as far into Wy as Cheyenne a couple of years ago... but bad weather chased me back down to Western Ks and Oklahoma. One year I spent my whole month in Miles City Mt area... which is good... but sleeping in my van in minus zero degree weather for two weeks finally chased me back southward. Last year I was up in the sandhills of Nebraska and SD. I really liked that open cattle country... and they have plenty of yotes up there. South West Wy could be a really good area... I've heard about that area before... so your tip, Yotehater has fallen on wide open ears. As a matter of fact... I'm just wide open to every place that has long range coyote opportunities.

thanks for the tips Guys... it's appreciated.

Well that's my backyards so-to-speak and I'll just say good luck with all of those coyotes. Get'em early before the contests start, because they get educated and thinned pretty fast once that happens. Just about everyone out here coyote hunts, and it seems like most of Utah coyote hunts here too.

A lot of the BLM around Kemmerer and LaBarge is subject to a winter range closure from January 1st through April 30th, which means no motorized access at all, so keep that in mind.

At least when the educated ones are sitting out there barking, once in a while they screw up and let you see them. My furthest coyote kill so far is 749 yards. I shot one's tail off at 835 yards once too.

I don't have much luck calling anywhere near sheep herds, because I always end up calling in the sheep dogs instead of coyotes. Also, the state hunters and county trappers fly/hit the areas around the sheepherders pretty hard. May be spotting for them around the sheep would work.

Another tip. Wild horses and coyotes don't mix. If there are wild horses around, the coyotes will be gone or hiding. Every time I have ever seen a wild horse and a coyote at the same time it has ended up with the horse aggressively chasing the coyote off.

Tikka.... that is good information on WY... because I don't really want to interfere with coyote contest during Jan and Feb. Everyone is out after ground and holding dearly to their spots so they have dogs to shoot at during the contest. I like to spot and stalk more that calling, but I will call them in order to make them stick their heads out. I use to want them in my lap, but not anymore. I just like doing the sniper thing. I guess I'm leaning towards mid Dec-mid Jan this year. We'll see what happens. thanks...Dan
