2 stage AR trigger recommendations?

+1 Geissele. I actually got a bad one that had more creep than I could live with on second stage. Emailed them and they asked for some pics then sent me a new one with prepaid return. Can't ask for anything more than that.

Geissele High Speed National Match. Yes, it's expensive. Yes, it's the best trigger STILL ever developed for precision use in the AR platform. Smooth takeup, adjustable sear engagement, adjustable weighting, superb quality. Other than getting it for free, there's not much more one could ask for. Well-- personally *I* would like to see a flat bow version, but I believe flat bows aren't CMP legal so I think that Bill thinks there's too small a market for a "match" trigger that's not legal in a major division of AR competition. I think they should do the flat bow version and just give it a different name: Super Dynamic Mach. (get it? it's not quite "match" but it's high speed)

Depends on application. If for Service Rifle, it needs to be 4.5lb total pull weight => the Combat model would be a consideration. The Adaptable one would, I think, require too heavy a second stage.
Otherwise, TT, I think, is a great choice. The break is crisper than the Geissele.
Because I shoot a 'match' rifle I'm not bound by the 4.5lb requirement and tried the AR Diamond. I returned it because the second stage was too heavy for me vs what can be done with the Geissele. If they would just enable distribution of weight to the first stage I'd be in line.
Right now, my Geissele's are set to 1lb 10oz first and 6oz second. Getting the first stage lower would be great.

You can bend the trigger return spring to lower the first stage. My Geissele High Speed National Match came with instructions on how to do that.

Right. I've got the trigger spring bent as far as it will go and still have the trigger reset reliably. Without the hammer installed and cocked, the trigger pull is 1 lb 4 oz. The hammer is adding 6 oz to the first stage.

My family has 3 Geissele and I have an Elftmann. We do no competition but are trigger sensitive. My wife is wanting a better trigger than her Rock River.

I like the Elftmann but have heard of too many reliability issues to use.

Geissele trigger in all forms are bombproof reliable.

People are recommending some pretty high dollar triggers. All of them are very good but are they $200 better than a Rock River? Not in my opinion and I like good triggers.

I too shoot smallbore, service rifle, air rifle, and others. After messing around with many aftermarket triggers for my NMAR's, I decided to sell them off, and re-install the RRANM's back into my RRANM's. They're simple, effective, meet the rule for CMP S/R, and break consistently.

I installed two RISE Armament triggers into mine and my sons AR15 plinkers, and they are really well made, adjustable, and clean consistent break. They do not however, meet the rule for CMP S/R. One of the Youtubers did a really nice review of various AR triggers here:

If I still owned my Geissele NM trigger, I'd offer it up for sale to you, but I sold it awhile back.

If there were cheaper triggers as good as the Geissele, I’d recommend them. But my experience is that drop in isn’t as reliable even if it can approach or match the overall performance. And other improved mil spec triggers are as reliable but not as high performance.

If you want a merely affordable trigger that happens to be excellent, I recommend the ALG improved or the BCM trigger. Both are improved mil spec and have no compromise on reliability or durability while offering a good step above mil spec in performance.

A drop in trigger is imho only for plinking and goofing where a failure won’t cost you a match or your life.

I second ALG. I believe the company is run by Geissele's wife. They are a quality stock trigger upgrade. Much much better than most stock triggers. I've got Geissele's, Rock River and ALG triggers. All are good but each has an intended application. The Geissele's are the best and broadest variety of applications and trigger varients but not every gun deserves a 300 dollar trigger. Rock River two stage at roughly 100 bucks is my second favorite but I've got an ALG on an AR10 and it was a significant improvement over stock. Those ALG's are only 70 or so bucks.

Also, the LaRue MBT is getting lots of good reviews as a trigger <$100. Absolutely belongs in the conversation of "great bang for buck" triggers.

I'm looking for a recommendation for a fully adjustable 2 stage trigger for an AR build that I want to do. I used to shoot NRA High-power (across the course), and I ran the 2 stage jewel which I REALLY liked. I also shot 3 position small bore and air rifle in college (long time ago) with the Anschutz 54 super match, so I freely admit that I'm a trigger snob . I've currently got a couple of Rock River NM triggers that I'm using. They are okay, but I'm looking for something substantially better that's equivalent (or better) in quality and adjustability (weight of each stage, sear engagement, over travel) to my Jewel. Any suggestions?

Geissele is hard to beat.

A couple other options would be Timney's Daniel Horner and a TriggerTech AR Diamond.
They both have very light first stages and second stages of 1 lb+.

Just installed TriggerTech Diamond in my Rock River R3 ? . Much nicer than Rock river trigger. Definitely worth the $$$.
