2 questions on barrels

Hey guys, i got 2 questions to you, #1 Has anybody used a X-caliber barrel? My gunsmith was recommending it but i don't know anything about them so it's kinda of worry if they're any good?
#2 What is the lightest bullet you can shoot out of a 1:8 twist? I'm pretty i'd be safe with a 87gr v-max for varmints and yotes, but i would like to use it for deer so i'm wanting to use 105gr for that.

I've shot 100's of prairie-dogs with light bullets from fast twist barrels (8-twists). 70, 75, and 87's primarily but also 55 and 65's at very fast velocities (4000-ish) without issues and respectable accuracy.

I guess i should mention i'm rebarreling my 6br and i'm gonna end up at 20". I went way too heavy on the contour the last time to carry it up and down the mtns in Central Pa.

I have yet to read about a X-caliber barrel that some one didn't like. They are getting good reviews.
I like my barrels to be all heavy sporter contour these days, even my p-dog rigs.

I have one in 260 AI. Just starting but looks real good. On a coyote gun, so not a bench gun. It's already a shooter. Don't have any real tried and true 100 yd targets to post. Sorry. I think (and feel) it will do very well on what I have seen so far though. I wouldn't be afraid to buy another one.
