These will be full custom builds w/ carbon fiber inlays and washers. Both will be made w/ Curly maple and carbon fiber. Plan to finish both in a deep blue. These will also be different designs.
Going to document each from the laminating to the machining process. Will also show the inletting on both fully w/ CNC.
These are going to be fun.
Bat M 1.47" octagon, B&A trigger and bartlein bbl in 300WSM
Bat M 1.55" round, B&A trigger and bartlein bbl and undecided on caliber.
Building new jigs for my cnc machine first, one for work holding system and one for 2 new low profile self-centering vises.

It’s insane what a piece of 1/2” x 24” x 48” T6061 aluminum cost, and shipping is worse..
I’m stuck at work in New Mexico anyways, it will start when I get home from work…

Once both are sealed will turn out the pillars and bed. Last few I’ve bedded first I noticed the curly maple turning dark from bedding material. Going this route on these and see how they turn out.

I really like the wood look and grains in stock showing. But…
Decided to go a totally different direction on these 2 builds. Going to do a base coat candy coat in two brilliant colors. The one currently with blue dye will be bedded, sanded back down and primed with black epoxy sealer / primer. Going with a black base coat covered in a seductive blue metallic candy.

The SOD will get the same treatment but going with Luscious green metallic candy over a black base coat. These should turn out amazing, surely going to be a first for me dealing with base coats and candy.

Chris go light on the epoxy.
Epoxy is inherently slow to dry if your film build is to heavy and you get on it to quick you can have issues.
HOK and Valspar make an economical black high build 2k urethane primer that can be sprayed directly over if finished in 600 grit.
Give a holler if you've got any questions.

Brett thanks for the heads up, this is definitely new for me and will reach out to you if something comes up that I’m unsure of. I spoke with the guys at TG and believe they have me pointed in the right direction.
I’m going to do a test run on a piece of curly maple with both candy’s and see the end results.

Currently in New Mexico working and will post up pictures of my test runs this weekend.
Feeling lost not being @ SWN lol, work schedule changing is for the birds.
Thanks again Brett..
