2 more 6x45 coyotes.

Both taken w/my Savage 6x45, 65g vmax at 3053 fps, 4-16x44 centerpoint scope, 3x50 sub zero laser designator.
Top at 170 yards about 930pm, 27lbs. We had 4 run in, one stayed a tad to long near the call, DRT.
The bottom at 197 yds., 29lbs. She was sitting out there barking a warning to her group but I put the quiet on her at about 1030pm both moonless nights.
Spotted w/ a Flir ps32 thermal on one of my ranches. Both in the same corn stubble area. Had 4 show up out of the bottom land each time, but they stayed at 500yds out & I will get them another time.
We left this spot and went closer to the ranch house near the corrals & my calling pal shot a large male w/a hairless tail coming fast to feed at the dead pile. Had another one sitting out there, but he split at the sound of his suppressor.
You really do not need an expensive rig at all to have a blast doing what I do.
I love calving & mating overlapping times!

Nice...
We got asked to come help out a lady thats got about 400 sheep. About all of'em are lambing. The field is getting full of little ones.
She called and asked if me and my hunting buddy could come and see if we could get a few yotes. Went Sat the 2nd and killed one, set some snares and we've got 2 red foxes and 6 more yotes. Had another and she shot at it and eighter hit the snare or it just broke it and took off.
First time in years we've tried to get'em that way but it brangs back lots of memories.

better yet, I'll just fly on up there and hunt with ya :) and bring one my awesome timbertoes open reed calls. well, I wish.

I chambered up one of my Rem 700 in 6X45 and I have taken over a dozen coyotes with it using 26 grains of 2015 behind a Hornady 58g Vmax and it drops them like a hammer of Thor.

Hey 5spd how do you like the "sub zero"? I tried one once, first yote bolted and didn't look back.
Its been doing the job for me perfectly. I do keep the laser just below or above them & try not to hit the eyes directly. Some have walked off, but none burned out in panic. It lights the body up better than my xlr250 at 100yds I use for scanning, so thats the point of the laser for me.
The ones I have shined directly into the eyes have stood there and then dropped when the bullet hit them.
