1st try at 600 new 6.5x47L bbl

still breaking in bbl and getting new brass fired to fit chamber,,doing a little tuning while breaking in just to get an idea what it will like. then I fine tune it starting at 100 rounds ..shot these with brass straight out of the box CCI 450 primers and H4350 with the 135 BIBs .016 off the lands,,the blue dots are 2 inches..

42.0
42.3
42.6 grs and I think with the long freebore I will try 42.9 and 43.2 as the groups were tightening up and I wasnt getting any pressure signs,,but I would be happy with the 42.6 group if it starts opening up any higher,,

the first 2 arent much but I like how it gets tighter the faster it gets,,

mr.big, how much elevation onto your 100 Yd. zero? Appears that you longer free-bore is working out - you're close. :D George [Ulrich] made a GREAT set of dies for those.:) RG

that is 10.5 MOA from 100 yards at 2920 fps,,,,,,,let me edit that,,,I put 10.5 on the knobs but it was about 3/4 inch high at 100 so it would really be like 11.25 from a true 100 zero,,ans it`s hitting a little high so I would say 10.75-10.875 moa adjustment will get me from 100 to 600 yards

Roger that - works out very close to what I'd have expected - did you add some to keep your "dot" clean? :D RG

I put .615 G1 BC 135 gr 6.5mm at 2920 into JBM and it said 10.5 for my local conditions,,if I had of had a true 100 zero it would have been very close to dead on,,I didnt touch the windage knob at all,,

That is looking really good!!

the longer freebore was genius man,,honestly I thought it was gonna be too long but I am not sure if it couldnt have been even a hair longer,,

hopefully it will tighten up some more at 42.9 and 43.2 but if it will just hold there at 42.6 I will be really happy,,

we will see how it goes with once or twice fired brass,,those were out of the box not even sized,,

thanx again it looks like we are on the right track

That's awesome, I run a .198 FB with 140 Hybrids at the high node. The more coal I put to it the tighter it got.

What are the build specs?

it`s a Krieger 4 groove 30" 8 twist on a Stiller PredatorV RBLP with a Jewell BR trigger bedded in an ST1000-F,,my Leupold 40x LCS is off to the shop so I robbed a 8-32 Sightron off my Tac30 AI 6.5x47 until I get the Leupold back,,

shootin off a Farley rest and DR Flattop rear bag.

Nice BIG barrel mr. big !! What does it weigh?
Mr Farley would like you to get some Super Feet and shelf liner to save the bottom of his rest ;)
