1999 vs mdl 70

I have a Montana Rifle Co 1999 and want to put a push feed Win 70 barrel on it. The thread pitch is the same. How about tenon length? Is the 1999 a coned breech or flat?? Extractor cut?? If I have to reinvent the wheel to get the win 70 barrel to work - I'll pass and get a new barrel.

Yes, it will be. It is a wildcat and I was hoping to not have to buy a reamer for a .40" cut. Not a deal breaker, I just want to know before going in.

It's been a while but as shortgrass said, the 1999 does not use a coned breech, as that aspect is actually part of the receiver rather than the barrel. And yes, both are 1"-16tpi, but I do recall the last time I did this, there was/is a difference in either the hs or tenon length..or both. What I don't recall is which way it was in regard to if you'll nee a reamer or if it can be set back to make it work without any reaming. I'd assume you need a reamer unless you hear for sure otherwise. Far more likely to be right this way.

I just happen to be rebarreling a1999.
Tenon length is .748
Winchester 70 .705
Yours will probably be slightly different so you will have to do so measuring.
