185gr VLD, easy to tune?

How easy are the 185gr Berger VLDs to tune in 308? I am considering picking some up and testing them out, but I dont really want to bother if they are going to be a pain in the neck to tune. I would most likely be running Varget. Rifle is a Savage 10 tactical 24" barrel, Mcmillan A5 stock. Current load is 185gr Lapua D46 in win brass, pushed by Reloder 17.

The VLD's are great bullets.

Don't hesitate to use the 185 Berger Jagernaults. I have tuned both but the Jag's were pretty easy. I have shot several 1moa groups @ 600 yards using the Jag's in my 308. I done very well with the VLD's.

The VLD's may like to be in the lands a little.

I, too, thought the VLDs would be a pain but when they were all that were available I gave them a go.
Tried four seating depths from just touching to .030" off and my barrel preferred .020" off. They shoot great but actually have a slightly lower BC than the Juggernauts which surprised me. One does need to check one's throat wear every 500-600 rounds to keep the VLDs at their preferred seating depth relative to the lands.

The Juggernauts are great for stock Remington shooters. Can actually get the bullet into the same Zipcode as the lands. A bullet long enough to fit that extra long throat that Remington is in love with.
